Unbelievable.Sounds like Western Springs all over again. The airfield has been there since 1943,WHY do people move there if they don't like the noise,or the way the aircraft operate.Who are the real idiots. Why do they want to change the rules now. What the council needs to do is to have a zone with a reasonable boundary where people can't build.Pretty damn simple if you ask me.Mind you,I never ever met a beauracat who had a brain anyway.

Airbus is introducing a brake to vacate  (BTV) autobrake function on the A380, but the system has not been tested and was not available for evaluation. BTV will enable the pilot to specify the target runway exit ahead of landing by using the KCCU to click on the airport map displayed on the ND. On landing, the autobrake system sets the appropriate amount of braking to slow the aircraft evenly for exit at the specified taxiway. impressive!

WWAA Bell 222 is now back from servicing it has 2 new tail rotor blades and 2 new main rotor blades plus some other minor touch-ups ZK-HNL is covering for ZK-HZJ while its being serviced. And Im very sad to say Sue Dinkelacker (Pilot of air ambulance) has now officially left the PSART team to travel around NZ with her husband and animals in there house bus I feel priviledged to have worked alongside Sue she has taught me a lot of what I know now and she will be missed greatly the hangar wont be the same with her gone.

Ever wondered what the airports at Great Barrier Island really look like? I just found this great shot of NZGB on MyAviation.net and thought I'd share it: Nice one Trolly I will now build my afcad around it,we could do with some photos like that one for more of the slightly smaller fields I reckon. Hi Nunner did you get any pictures we could use for AI repaints? Sorry Charl my days of trawling airfields/airshows taking pics has long gone, mind you "if" ever I get out there with my old slr then I do shoot away. Nunner The last out and out pics I took were back in the UK for a trip and it was the 60th ann of the spit and I can tell you seeing and hearing 13 spits land at Eastleigh (Southamton),my old airfield was very very "charged". They all did a flypast which was then a record since the war,got the pics of it all somewhere. Nunner

It is done for the benefit of all the airmen who lost their lives in the battle of Britain,as you know or may not know there were a lot of Kiwis who flew for the RAF. Yes, so I gathered. My aunt's partner's father flew a spitfire in an RAF Squadron based at Tangmere in WW2. This year they had to hold out east because of the showers that hit the cenotaph at 11am,think they got in at about 1105. Yep, 'out east' is pretty much right over my house and it was a pleasure to see all the craft up and down the Tamaki Estury. I was speaking to a friend of mine, Geoff Cooper who lead the...

Iused to watch the air races before on tv3- last one I saw was Dubai so that was quite a long time ago. You can find the Rotterdam course as scenery download here: And I absolutely love the extra 300- and there is an even-better-than-default freeware 300l version here if you are interested: (In the Redbull racing colours)

there's just something about the A380 i don't trust. must be the same thing as people thought about when the 747 was first built. brave passengers to take flight IMO. mind you, the passengers help build the A380, so it must be a sense of pride for them
