yeah it was a good day the flying display was good but everything else i found was boring like the unimog tow and unimog camuflague competition and obstacle course and mock battle , the iroqouis took part in the mock battle it flew in once to drop off troops and it took like 5mins to unload all off them lol and at the end when it looked as if it had finished the herc came in and did a high speed past and then banked around and landed and taxied in fast with back door down and then the troops all ran on to the herc and then the herc taxied out fast and then took off and landed at nzch the end...

In a 172, you take 20 of flap for a crosswind, that gives you a good forward view, and helps you keep your speed up..

Yeah I work for WIAL. But when I am at the aeroclub, I just go for a wander around a bit Neat! I want to get a part time job, any job, at NZAA that lets me wonder around airside- then I'd bring my camera to work every day lol :P A guy who is in my class at Ardmore Flying School works as a baggage handler there part time, although he implied that the demand for part timers isn't great.

135.81 Operations of single engine aircraft “ IFR No person shall perform an air operation carrying passengers with a singleengine aircraft under IFR. That is straight from the caa website CAR Part 135. They will operate VFR, but at the very minimums, and get SVFR into the zone.

A Turbo Bonanza - that is something you don't see every day! - was it pressurised though as there is no pressurised Bonanza - although there is a pressurised Baron That would be a lot of work to convert a Baron to a single engined aircraft, could anybody really be arsed doing it I wonder!

Usually when one goes to flight school and does the CPL, they either go on to do a frozen ATPL (you do the atpl subjects but not the flying hours), or a C-cat course. I would personally prefer to do a c-cat course because it's another job opportunity at the start of my flying career, whereas an ATPL wouldn't be needed at that stage. Most people do, some subjects prior to doing their C-cat, (as i am) and then the rest during their time of being a c-cat, some will then go on to do a b-cat, (well my school anyway) our school only allows b-cat to become multi instructors, keeps a good...

Yeah im flying in VAT, its alright, not too bad, the primary ALT is way too sensitive though, as is XAT's, its the problem with the G-1000 glass cockpit, you get used to it though.... VAT is a much nicer plane to fly, when it isnt about to kill you, (if you want more details PM me), and is has an ADF for listening to talk-back and radio sport, when on a cross country and the old i-pod has gone flat....

You won't easily tell by looking at it. As the company changed hands, so did the handle - Hughes, McDonnell, Boeing.... MD500 belongs to international bean counters trading on the ghost of McDonnell Douglas. It's a bit like Lotus Cars in the UK, now owned by a Russion zillionaire. Colin Chapman is spinning in his grave. Not to highjack the thread: great pics Bandit, gives a good feel of the outing. You a regular hunter?
