LMAO that would have been funny for the Radar operators, spike TU95s WTH /biggrin.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :D border= 0 alt= biggrin.gif /> . Yeah back in the cold war they also used to smile after seeing playboy centrefolds which the NATO guys used to show them as stick mags aren't allowed in Communist countries.

QUOTE(Kelburn @ Aug 14 2007, 05:19 AM) I couldn't see the airport so I didn't get a scale on how big it was but quite possibly a Challenger. QUOTE(SUBS17 @ Aug 7 2007, 09:29 PM) Nope it has nothing to do with that at all its for trainning both for NZ and Australias Defence Force. Back in the 80s before the Nuclear ban in NZ the US used to bring their aircraft and weapons to NZ as part of ANZUS and had some awesome air battles over the country(F-16s, F-15s, E3s, F-14s etc). In one exercise they brought an entire Carrier Battle group down here for trainning. The negative side to this though was it made NZ a nuclear target for the Soviets(in all there were 4 or more bases in NZ that were nuclear targets that would most...

The race was this weekend just gone. Reason they couldn't use City was that they needed the strip from Wednesday through Monday, and City's small apron couldn't accommodate them for the whole time. City is closed anyway Saturdays and Sunday mornings, so they only had to keep it closed an extra couple of hours.
