Great news. I'm sure you will enjoy the lifestyle on the 777. However make sure you enjoy your remaining time on the ATR. It is the best flying (and most rewarding) flying you will do in your airline career. I certainly enjoyed my time on the F27 (Hands on flying and the ground staff at the provincial airports were really great). Flying a heavy jet is all about management. Look forward to catching up. I'll shout you a beer or 2.

Taupo isn't controlled at all, and I think the issues there stem more from itinerant pilots not reading the AIP and getting in the way of the parachuting operations.
