Hi Guys, I'm just about to sit my cpl air law (helicopter) exam in a week. I've read through pretty much all the legislation - rules and AIP - and the only thing that is missing is doing some practice exams. Waypoints will have some mock exams available in a month or so but that's a bit late for me. Does anyone have some copies of prac exams (and answers if you have them) sitting around? I'd be soooooooo appreciative. Post or a reply or private message if you can help me out? I've been flying for a while overseas and know so well how exams are half about exam technique - and how well prac...

QUOTE (cambridgedan @ Jan 10 2009, 10:04 AM) how many people have heard of or get the Aviation News paper ??? I get most issues but am starting to find more and more of interest in the glossy pages of pacific wings. I occasionally pick up one of the plethora of sports aviaiton mags too

QUOTE (towerguy @ Jan 10 2009, 01:32 AM) I think it would be pretty close to say that if it comes from ATC either written or verbal then its magnetic and if it comes from MET then it's mostly bullsh!t ... er True. Exactly, very good way of summing up the NZ MET system /tongue.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :P border= 0 alt= tongue.gif /> Airways always seems to get it right /thumbup1.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= thumbup1.gif />

I've seen photos of old propliners transporting cattle in South America and they actually removed the passenger doors altogether and flew with them open. Only an option if you don't need pressurization of course! That is very interesting. Makes me wonder if DC-8-63F was going to cruise at 10,000 ft???? Anyway, the take off of DC-8 showed the doors closed Regards, Aharon

Well if it is up to me as Air New Zealand pilot, I would have .... what makes you think it was ever up to the Pilot, especially given it wasn't an emergency? I'd bet it was a pre-arranged commercial instruction

Was just watching the girls at Hagley Oval yesty while we did the quality checks on the homebrew. No wonder Marty stayed in. I don't mind the heat, but the humidity is a killer, specially here, 90km inland, where we don't usually get it. ATB Mike

Thanks Mr B , some interesting times ahead. You will have to remove the wing centre section of the Herc. Don't think NZ roads would be wide enough !!

pS Aharon, found a copy of that B733 jumpseat post in the good old wayback machine doh duh doh duh doh why didn't I think of the web.archieve.org websit trick!!! Thanks for great report. I enjoyed it very much. I chuckled over the words "pilots spotted 737 size hole and flew through the hole in the clouds for sake of passenger comfort. Regards, Aharon

"IF" .... anyone's interested the NZNAC DC-9-10 is now available from the HJG "FANTASY LIVERIES" downloads page (along with the earlier uploaded NZNAC BAC ONE-ELEVEN 400 too) .... Bear in mind please these files are "FS2004 native and FSX portable" only .... they may function in P3D V3 (not beyond this version though), but, I can't guarantee this as I've yet to have the opportunity to see/analyse this "for myself". The NZNAC BAe 146-200 couldn't be readied in time for HJG's December/Christmas release of just a few days ago though .... This particular...

In the near Future they will have bigger Space Shuttles which can fly VTOL instead of using Rocket engines which is the better way to go. There are new Powerplants being developed which do not require fuel and would suit a Space Ship like the Space shuttle. :plane:
