Hi Guys, I'm just about to sit my cpl air law (helicopter) exam in a week. I've read through pretty much all the legislation - rules and AIP - and the only thing that is missing is doing some practice exams. Waypoints will have some mock exams available in a month or so but that's a bit late for me. Does anyone have some copies of prac exams (and answers if you have them) sitting around? I'd be soooooooo appreciative. Post or a reply or private message if you can help me out? I've been flying for a while overseas and know so well how exams are half about exam technique - and how well prac...

QUOTE (cambridgedan @ Jan 10 2009, 10:04 AM) how many people have heard of or get the Aviation News paper ??? I get most issues but am starting to find more and more of interest in the glossy pages of pacific wings. I occasionally pick up one of the plethora of sports aviaiton mags too

QUOTE (towerguy @ Jan 10 2009, 01:32 AM) I think it would be pretty close to say that if it comes from ATC either written or verbal then its magnetic and if it comes from MET then it's mostly bullsh!t ... er True. Exactly, very good way of summing up the NZ MET system /tongue.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :P border= 0 alt= tongue.gif /> Airways always seems to get it right /thumbup1.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= thumbup1.gif />

I know Audi have done winter testing in Queenstown before but those do not appear to be Audis. My car spotting skills aren't quite as strong as my aviation ones but I'm pretty sure those are Cupras going by the tail lights and the missing triangular shaped badges.

Well, if I win the 23 million Lotto prize tomorrow night, I'll kick start them with $3,000,000 ...with conditions as to where it ends up. Nice to dream. I would rather see ZK-NAC come home...the first 732 to be sold outside the U.S evidently.

Deeknow, Oh well what can I say?? Maybe it is hard to see in my 15 inch laptop screen??? I am guessing it is because ANZ is using same color of RR logos as the color of metallic cowlings unlike all other airlines using black RR logos for their engines. Thanks for confirmation of existence of RR logos on 742's engine cowling. Now got to find ANZ livery for POSKY 742!! Regards, Aharon

Yes correct. ir NZ 747-200 series had Rolls Royce RB211 engines and natural metal cowls. Heaps of pictures here: see here Deaneb, Thanks for clarification and for your awesome link. Much appreciated. Splitpin, It looks like you did NOT make mistakes on engine covers in your cool screenshot banner!!! Deaneb confirmed that ANZ 742 did have super shiny all metallic engine covers! Is your ANZ 742 in your banner screenshot Posky model base??? If so, who painted it please? Regards, Aharon

Also slightly unrelated: there's been much made of the Unrestricted airspace down south, for rockets etc - where's that then? Dawn Aerospace, Kea Aerospace, and a bunch of others out of the new testing area Tawhaki at Kaitorete.

Both. In fact, I'm about to continue writing my "mini bio series" which will focus mainly on the start of my flying career with Air NZ. Amazing!! Looking forward to your bio series hopefully with your photos of planes and cockpits as well as airports Regards, Aharon

Just to be clear this is a (poorly) reproduced email from Grayson Ottoway so he takes all the credit. He is a keen aviation buff that lives in Tauranga. An ex radio jock turned aviation reporter. He does a lot of "This day in aviation" emails. He is also a regular controller and pilot on the Vatsim network. Calls everyone a Lad. If you would like to be added to his email list then let me know and I will forward you his email address.
