Hi Guys, I'm just about to sit my cpl air law (helicopter) exam in a week. I've read through pretty much all the legislation - rules and AIP - and the only thing that is missing is doing some practice exams. Waypoints will have some mock exams available in a month or so but that's a bit late for me. Does anyone have some copies of prac exams (and answers if you have them) sitting around? I'd be soooooooo appreciative. Post or a reply or private message if you can help me out? I've been flying for a while overseas and know so well how exams are half about exam technique - and how well prac...

QUOTE (towerguy @ Jan 10 2009, 01:32 AM) I think it would be pretty close to say that if it comes from ATC either written or verbal then its magnetic and if it comes from MET then it's mostly bullsh!t ... er True. Exactly, very good way of summing up the NZ MET system /tongue.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :P border= 0 alt= tongue.gif /> Airways always seems to get it right /thumbup1.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= thumbup1.gif />

From NZ 3rd level blog Our boat has been out of action over the winter as has been well publicized in the media. However has been back plying its trade since mid July. Recently there was an issue with the Southern Tiares Crewing Requirements. This caused a severe delay to a Island bound sailing, thus delaying all other voyages, including over to Pitt. The flights are bringing infrastructure needed for our new wind farm, as well as other time critical supplies. Would be great to see this become a regular thing. Especially given the ST is very much on its last legs and we cannot keep going...

Great clip thanks, what a landing... Done that run several times. The trip is just long enough to properly enjoy a gin aboard the ANZ -300 which is a fantabulous ride, and with proper cabin design.

I remember reading an account from one of Supermarine's test pilots who's job was to display the Walrus - he reported it was reasonably easy to loop, not quite so easy to roll. How times have changed!

I tried to get the DVD of the 2018 show - my last visit to NZ - but while the shop says it is available, the videos page says WoverW can no longer supply DVDs. So I'll just have to wait until they transfer them all to the cloud, to be downloaded.

Years ago, a friend copped one of those monster tea trolleys on the kneecap in turbulence, which convinced me that seatbelts are not optional. Incredible that many seated passengers still do not buckle up 100% of the time, especially in the tropics. I've started to get angry at people who get up, stand in the isle next to me while I'm seated waiting for the bog... while the seatbelt light is on. Flight attendants do nothing about it either up here. I flew the day after the Singapore airlines incident and people were still totally clueless. I refuse to get out of the way if the person next to...

Further my above comments: This's what might have evolved for TEAL/AIR NZ .... had dice rolled the other way than came to pass .... TEAL COMET IV AIR NEW ZEALAND VC10 & B707-320B ADV AND .... what might have also evolved under similarly dictating circumstances in the case of NZNAC too .... NZNAC BAC ONE-ELEVEN 400 NZNAC DC-9-10 "HISTORY" .... of the type that could have unfolded but never eventuated :) Mark C AKL/NZ

There were three all doing the same thing. I managed to catch a glimpse of it just after takeoff at work yesterday. Great shots though. I believe that a handful are being kept in service for a couple more years as the KC-46 takes over from the KC-135R...but it's still too young to be retired.
