QUOTE (Pato @ Jun 14 2008, 05:55 AM) Thanks for that. I am not sure what Autosave is so I guess I don't have that program and that will not be my problem. All the same I think I am looking at a reinstall of FS9. I also have VOZ installed. Could this be causing FS9 to stutter?.

The limit is actually 4Gigs of memory address space ... However, as things like Video Cards, Optical Drives, Hard Drives etc. are all run in Direct Memory Addressing (DMA) mode, they take up memory address space... so if you have a 512Meg video card, you're instantly down to 3.5Gigs left for RAM... then throw in a DVD drive and a hard drive or two and you will quickly find you are down to around 3.2 or 3.3Gigs of RAM... I have seen reports that newer versions of Windows actually report total physical RAM... rather than RAM that can be addressed... so you might get different results...

Oh the joys of computers and games!!! QUOTE (HardCorePawn @ Jun 9 2008, 09:12 AM) Hmmm sounds like it is not saving the settings to your fs9.cfg file properly... you might want to setup your controls, and then (with FS9 still running) save a copy of the cfg file... so if it does get lost, you can just copy it back in and yes, there are definitely 2 camps when it comes to CH Manager... The "don't use it" camp, and the wrong camp... ;) Seriously tho, it is not so much an issue of which one is best... but which one works for you... what I do know, is that if...

I don't think your graphics card supports DX9. You'd need to upgrade the graphics card to use FSX.

QUOTE (Charl @ Jun 11 2008, 10:19 PM) Yes it is, and can speed up scenery loading, too. When you add the scenery in the sim, simply navigate to wherever the scenery is located, and add it, as usual. Thanks Charl, I remembered the megascenery recommendation and have done exactly as you suggest. Richard

QUOTE (Trolly @ Jun 3 2008, 04:51 PM) Haha yep, I don't usually work there but they are having a big store revamp and I made myself an easy $150 for changing the coke display around :P sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet I thought you might have been 'borrowing stock'... we used to do that when I was a checkout chick /trolley boy /shelf stacker ... if we had a special on and ran out of stuff, we'd head over to another store in the group and raid their supplies :) Don't laugh... 2 guys and about 12 to 15 chicks on checkouts? I like that ratio! :ph43r: I preferred...

I've just upgraded my machine to an Intel Core 2 E8500 and I've been told that FSX is only hungry on CPU power. So I'm investing in a really good after market cooler and cranking the cpu up to about 4.5ghz which I've been told should run FSX no worries. I personally would go with the E6850.

Hi Alister, I am using the same Graffics card and drivers as you are and would be interested in your "Manage 3d settings." in the Nvidia control panel. I am having an antialiasing problem but have no other issues with the card. Nhancer is installed but I do not use this program. Regards Richard

QUOTE (aviation @ May 11 2008, 03:56 PM) Tried installing the 93.21 drivers and it wouldn't allow it because they're too old for my card. In nHancer I have two FS profiles one is just called "MS Flight Simulator 2004" the other "MS Flight Simulator 2004 - Disabled predifined" and I can't delete that profile because it brings up some message relating to nvidia not allow the deletion of predifined profiles :P Exactly, the new nVidia Forceware won't allow you to delete the standard profiles. And, the standard profiles are set only to enhance in-game...
