Thanks, Aviator. I naturally assumed FSX would work regardless of output, (e.g. UHD or 4k). My fear is that it may show up any 'glitches' or imperfect edges of scenery/aircraft. Would be good to hear from anyone using it with 4k....in the meantime, more 'googling.' No problem, I now use P3D and with the Payware scenery and Aircraft. I find everything nice and sharp compared to the default FSX aircraft where you could see pixels and defects at Ultra high. Not to say I still enjoy fsx and flying the missions which happens to lack in P3D.

I already had it from FSX. I know you are not supposed to copy files straight across but you have to try these things. Apart from some models having black parts there seems to be no problem. I think Orbx are using a few very old models. Most are OK. Kiwi55

Not yet DashCap .... I still have the "fade out " problem ...with any aircraft at any airport. So Im going to upgrade to V4 on a clean hard drive and see what happens. I dont want to throw too much more money at this , but I just cant find a solution. Glad that you seem to have identified the cause of your woes. Thanks marty i seem to have sorted the issue (touch wood!) By reinstalling my carenado aircraft, sim is going fantastic atm, just want it to stay that way now lol! All the best with your sim Marty :)

No worries. Its a community right? Remains to be seen how much of this will be useful in P3Dv4 when I finally get back in the game. Assuming I don't move to some other sim ... entirely possible that there will be a new preference by Feb'18. I'm looking only for an NZ sim, which in large part means whatever Rob produces, so while I'm down / offline I am watching with interest on how this all pans out. Interesting times...

you need to remove 05LEFT or it's just not Auckland The ONLY current runway at NZAA Auckland International is 05 RIGHT/23LEFT. If this is not the case then I've been putting tin on and off the wrong concrete for the last 30yrs :o :P That is why Harrison Ford is always getting it wrong !.... TRUE

Even if P3D V4 came out at the start of the US summer it would probably take at least until the end of the year to iron out the inevitable bugs and hardware issues. Of course Pete Dowson (FSUIPC) will most likely be away on holiday at release time as well :) Some proactive aircraft and scenery developers, that have access to the V4 beta, will have new versions available but there may or may not be a cost to the user. even current versions of P3D may not run what you have, especially if it's origins hark back to FS9. I would suggest stay with what you have and wait for a stable V4 to...
