Your driver No. doesnt seem right?? I think thats your control panel version. Mine says v301.41 Its not the latest. Go here for an inspector guide. Set it to the guide. Its a good place to start.

QUOTE (Naki @ Jul 6 2012,4:22 PM) Nothing happened - deathly silence ..when trying to switch it on...sent the PC to Brother in Law who more techy than I am...apparently its now going - maybe only a lose wire (touch wood)...just heard today that oldest son needs braces (as in teeth) so new PC is about 10 years away now! Hey there, Just thought I could add a little useful knowledge into the mix here. I'm a techie by trade so a good way to test your power supply is to use a voltmeter to test that you always have 5 volts through the standby wire on the main 20 or 24 pin power...

Usually if its not working in Windows test screens etc, its a likely hardware fault.

After another couple of nights of fiddling with BIOS settings and running endless Prime95 and IBT tests have settled on a nice stable config for the i5/2500K I decided to wind it back to a x43 multiplier (4.3GHz) as the frame rates were more than enough and dont wanna comprimise the hardware (even tho it should theoretically o/clock much higher). I lowered manual PLL voltage (1.75V) and dropped core voltage to 1.30V which seems to be sufficient during the stress tests. This has lowered the temps considerably during tests (low 70's max now) and during FSX gameplay at detailed payware...

QUOTE (mfraser @ Jul 4 2012,12:52 AM) A helpful post indeed. I'm in the process of deciding if I should drop a few hundy on a new Phenom CPU for the family PC or break the budget and get one of the new i7 3770 upgrade kits (Which aren't too expensive really). I know there is still much debate and contention, but I'd be keen to hear from anyone that has anectodal evidence of FSX performing better on more cores and slower clocks or vice versa. The reason I ask is that I could get a cheap X6 1065T which is 6 cores at 2900mHz - versus an X4 960 which is 4 cores at...

The .net files being supplied with these addons are well outdated and if you do unstall the .net updates through windows update you are well ahead of what is being supplyed with the addons. /blink.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= blink.gif />

Cheers Andrew, I initially googled it and found every single scenario possible which just confused me more. So my conclusion is because I have the room on the SSD I wil put both on it. Apparently a SSD won't improve FPS only load time but it can reduce stutters as the textures while playing due to the extremely fast loading of them. /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif />

ah k i should have checked that myself though they say its 10meter mesh so go figure it works better for some areas set at 1m ,I work with photoreal alot so changing this setting from 10m to 1m can create water ride ups more along coastlines so i tend to keep it at 10m . i do not to use taxiways so this does not effect me i just hover out /winkyy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= ;) border= 0 alt= winkyy.gif />

Win7 Aero..Seems to reek havoc have you tried disabling! When Aero is running on my system I get a HIGH CPU usage even though AffinityMask=255 is set for multiple CPUs. Lets face it FSX is an Old old program. Waiting for Prepar3d New release.

QUOTE (Ian Warren @ May 21 2012,10:09 AM) I could always fly it on the outside ..... jeez talk about real world weather to go with /laugh.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= laugh.gif /> only a good idea if you're flying one of the those WWI biplanes - just adds that extra bit or realism. The other thing I should have mentioned is that all 6 screens are touch screens so every switch in the aircraft is clickable by just touching it on the appropriate screen. Very nice. If only I had the cash ..... and the space. My little computer cupboard is very...

I looked into Nvidia 3D a while back, but there seemed to be so little enthuiasm for it. Also, I seem to remember people saying that the cursor was not visible in 3D, which would make adjusting anything in the cockpit a little trying. The main reason that I did not go ahead with the 3D was the slow take up by other people. 3D (Nvidia) for FSX had been around for a time, yet few people were using it, and those that had tried it, did not seem to be too impressed. The need to buy a new 120 Hz screen was only a small consideration (wanted a new screen anyway), the conclusion that I came to after...

Think once sorted .. so many great addons for people who construct a basic cockpit , have to suit most all most use , from a Spit to a 747 .. simply a singleton PC just for the fun , seen many NZFFer's already setup and some wicked setups . /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif />

The first 2 only have H61 motherboards. Wouldnt even concider them for a gaming system. No overclocking ability and only support slow ram. Even the most expensive system of your 3 states a P67 motherboard which is weird because I didnt think they supported the new Ivy Bridge cpu's and even if they did, your not going to get the benefits of the new processor on an older motherboard.Check out the link at PBtech. Same processor, faster ram, bigger graphics card, the new Z77 mobo and windows 7 premium x64bit Because they build to order, i would say they would be accomodating if you wanted to...
