Thats good information. Shows why auto updates should be disabled on a gaming rig.

Thankyou both for your comments. I will have a play around with it, I just thought unlimited seemed a bit strange but apparently not.

Just a quick update to anyone else thinking of upgrading this way. I did install a GT630 as I couldn't fit the GT 640 in as the case and board turn out to be a BTX design. However results are better than I expected small increase in FPS but it does allow me to run two monitors at reasonable rates. So overall for a small outlay £56 (I already had 2 monitors) I have gained what I consider a good bust to gaming pleasure. Thanks for all comments

QUOTE (Pato @ Jan 18 2014,2:53 PM) I find the tension on this Joystick very strong and tiring after awhile. I guess there is no way to adjust it.? Can someone recommend a similar Joystick that is easier on the wrist please?. This is a little more costly but I can say I have had a quick go on one of these and it is well worth the money considering the smoothness in the axis.

QUOTE (toprob @ Jan 21 2014,2:51 AM) It could be that you are using different screen resolutions for Windows and FSX. Try setting the resolution within FSX to match Windows. (Assuming that you use the 'native' resolution for Windows.) Brilliant. It appears that that was the problem. Your guidance much appreciated. I am just getting back into FS after a long absence and I have to relearn things, but I would not have twigged to your solution.

Thanks for the reply, I already have REX4 sun textures installed so maybe there is a problem with that? I never really fly outside of Australia and New Zealand but have noticed it staying at dusk/dawn between NZCH and NZAA for example so i don't think chasing the sun is the problem. Thanks for the start though, i'll have to just keep tweaking settings and try get some results /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif />

Thank you for your reply. By combining your suggestions along with reference to the Learning Centre keyboard commands, the Locked Spot default setting for the Cessna Skyhawk 172SP is solved. It was Ctrl + Spacebar. The chase aircraft could be re-positioned using the numerical keys with NumLock on. The keys to Zoom in (=)and out (-) were reset to the default distance with Backspace.

Thankyou Rob - you may have saved me a lot of wasted effort. I made the airport in ADEX, just a very basic runway+parking, compiled to a bgl. I just wanted to add a couple of buildings to that, but if Whisplacer won't work with ADEX bgls then I will have to find another object placer. Getting past my bedtime, so it must be long past yours. 0445 comes early /ohmy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :o border= 0 alt= ohmy.gif />

QUOTE (Sonnyj @ Jan 4 2014,11:13 AM) Ah huh, Another VFR man, good on ya! eye candy, that's what it is all about. Even i use IFR and works within flightsim, ive used my charts that i copied and modified originally dated back to 1998 , FS9/FSX the charts are still relevant tho outta of date, still have all the ILS and Nav to get you home in any weather .. Queenstown is the fun one, but the charts posted at flightsim.com are only primary airline point to point BUT they still work and the good thing is i have them in a desktop clear-folder and can track exactly where i am to the...

Thanks Paul - If it was FS9, I would be looking for replacement airport flattens (AF9nnnnn.bgl) which were mismatched with the AFCAD, and AF926230.bgl would be the first check. Unfortunately I have not done any of that sort of fiddling in FSX. Disabling the default flattens got rid of those huge embankments, but the trade-off was "floating runways" which you could fall off, and sometimes taxi through underneath /ohmy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :o border= 0 alt= ohmy.gif /> Replacement meshes can create similar effects. A bit puzzled for the moment, but I'll keep...
