I have always run an AMD MB with a Nvidia graphics card and have never had any problems with the setup At present I am running a SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 (Socket 942) MB with an AMD FX-8350 4000 MHz a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 and 24 GB Ram The only improvement I could make would be to up the Ram a bit more as with 24GB I get very close to running out when doing photo scenery for FSX

Take it back to PB tech. If there is a fault they can fix it. If it's you fault then they will charge you but at least you will have it back up and running without any more worries about whats gone wrong and how do I fix it. If it's a new machine running windows 8.1 it probably has the UEFI secure boot system and this may be preventing you from booting from a DVD. Rather than spending a lot of time and messages back and forth it will be quicker for you to take it back to the store and doing it that way won't invalidate any warranty which will almost certainly occur if you start opening the...

I think we used to get any PM messages highlighted at the top of the Forum Page at one time, to draw attention to them...which was an excellent idea! Yes I do get the highlighted across the top of the page , answer one and if you are called or pulled away the other or unanswered will not show up , this is what I put forward today can this be changed .

 .... Hmmm , maybe my mouse has a life of its own .... I called round yesterday to exorcise this mouse but only the cat was home - from the look he/she gave me it would be my first suspect. He/she is toying with you . . .. Sorry i missed you Greg ..... if the moggy you saw was a skinny tabby , you did well to avoid him :ph43r:

Don't know if it is still of use, but delete the fsx.cfg and let FSX build a fresh one. This will eliminate so many problems I've encountered in the last years. The only thing is that you have to tweak it again, but it's better than a full reinstall

The voting was changed to the review results last night as Dan will not be on deck until next Monday. The voting will close at midnight tonight but the banner will probably not be changed until Dan gets back. As for the intermittent speed thing it is something that we are looking into and may not get fixed until Dan or Dean get back next week. :(

Hi Guys Thanks for the reply's It seem to related to Deans FU24 954 for some strange reason. I have the revised version for of the FU24 package for FSX acceleration and sp2. When a switch to another a default aircraft all seem fine go back to the fletcher things seem fine but it goes back to the control surfaces not moving much I know the hoppers full which is default but with flap and at 60 to 80 knots she just lifts off but wont climb, with full power and pulling back she just stalls Ok just noticed that the trim wheel In the VC is moving on its own and is for some reason trimming nose down...

QUOTE (gdavies @ Jan 17 2015,6:27 PM) Why does putting FSX on the first partition make it any faster to access?? The read heads don't have to move so far to access the data after reading the index file to find where they are located. Not very significant for small number of file reads but with FSX where there are thousands of files being read that can start to add up a bit.

It is one off the silly things FSX dose and all depends on everyone's PC ... so that's sorted. Next : the PC memory, Last time you had a good cleanup/defrag and making sure the PC has that little room for cache. It is strange this has only appeared now, one reason I thought this maybe the cause .. with a lower end system it dose not take much.
