Many thanks Les, for all your help, time and advice. Without this help I would not have this now registered. It was the Windows 7 security settings and I am very grateful that you could talk me through the minefield. Very much appreciated.

Matt , I'm still getting use to my P3D this week, I'm a luck bugger, I had both Greg and Marty Gift me a copy of P3D3.5 , as an experiment I simply dragged Rob's Ashburton across , I can see this program really has real potential, so many things familiar to FSX but with a pretty interface , I even like rather the change of aircraft is the word 'Vehicles' , sounds senseable.

Pato , at the moment appears all flightSim programs are at a crossroads, I know a lot of developers are questioning what or who they want to build on , with me personally I have HUGE amounts of software for FSX .. so its a real toss up, Just recent was mention a d.load for FS9 .. FSX may so if you get or go this way due it being so popular.

I have my OS on a 240GB SSD and my FSX on a 300GB Raptor HDD I did try my FSX on a SSD but found that there was no gain over the SSD against the Raptor. That is the information that I was after. Thanks.

Thanks for that. Yes I have used that in FS9. Normally it is to used to synchronise the time as it drifts in FS. I was hoping that there was some little known method of getting P3D to change the UTC offset. FS real time is just another program to have running.

Thanks Rob. I run P3Dv3 though I haven't used the sim much at all for a couple of months. However, I am currently medically grounded by CAA IRL for 3 months due to recent laser eye surgery, so maybe it will get more use for a while. I just bought PrecipitFX, but have yet to try it out. Thanks for the additional detail; the solid o/c is appealing. I run ASN right now, so the upgrade version is lower cost for me. Perhaps when we slide into the next month and all bills are paid there will be some left over to grab it. (not holding my breath though) Cheers

Old thread - but I thought I'd bump it. The trick is to remember which way to push/pull the A/P knobs. Basically, if you want to take over control in any manual sort of way, the pull the knob back out - towards YOU . Anything you want to set back to the aircraft a/p, then push it forward - towards the AIRCRAFT . That's the easiest way I found to remember it. If you select the "English UK" (or whatever it's called) PO/FO sound set, then you'll get the glorious voices of two NZFF members doing the callouts (BobL and myself). As to which respective seats we were in, I forget! Note:...

That is disturbing. Yeah! the car decides drive on the wrong side off the road or decides to drive in reverse all because of an automatic software update.

Funny you say that Mike, as you know my setup, this PC is still XP because the hardware I have won't wok with anything else , surely you like me are not the only ones with a trusted OS , even then XP was $600NZ off the shelf at now Dead Dickies when first released .. today they dictate what you should use, and worst such workable programs such TS now fail .... I maybe be to able add other others ... course shut it down. Now the Shut down scenario! won't affect me other than my website but it would be BLOODY funny to see these hand held app's that used regular get shut down , you would get a...

yeah technically Keith you are supposed to have a separate license for each machine. I bought 2 of them coz they're pretty cheap really when you think about how much you spend on other add-ons after buying FSX itself. Very surprised here , three PCs all under my name and yet I use one Licence FSX ... and one on the laptop still no issue only prob there was the AGN editing other than that under the same person licence all works perfectly fine .... I guessing if someone else in the household uses the PC's and has admin rights will cause these problems.

I'd get a 1070 instead I think. Probably no need for the top of the line. Hmm, it has been 5 years since my last upgrade. About time I think... Steve, I didn't know you had a Titan. What CPU have you got? A 4770K overclocked with water. I didn't get a particularly outstanding overclock...just 4.4 ghz. Luck of the draw. It pretty much meets most of my needs.
