I have to agree with Bingobob on this one... looks like my card and your mobo + PSU are not going to play nicely :( Might have to pull the pin

.I built this up myself and had it together and running in about 3hrs.If you are going to get a new mobo then you have three choices,ABIT,ASUS,GIGABYTE,in that order, but that is only my opinion. save the pennies James and go for the better stuff,it is well worth the wait. yes indeed, Like this mobo is an asus, everytime I go back to that page the price is going up too! Very odd, its ment to go down... Its not a bad price and its asus, so must be reasonably good. With all these things going on with my pc its proably somehtign to do with the current mobo having issues, so I would like to...

Howdy Jimmy, LoL! No, it's Glacier Bay that's 138 Mb. Filemon can be downloaded directly from here (and it's only 280 Kb.).

as far as I know the most important thing would be the DDR or DDR2 part, they are actul differant sizes and stuff. well it says: * Four 240-pin DDR2 DIMM sockets * Supports PC2 3200 (400 MHz) and PC2 4200 (533 MHz) DDR2-DIMMS * Maximum HP/Compaq approved memory is 4 GB* So it says it supports 533mhz and 400mhz and on the other site it says that it supports "PC2-3200 MB/sec" but doesn't say it doesn't support the other.. So I would imagine it would work.. I would sugest you email HP and ask, it is quite a bit of money to spend...

i had a huge frame rate issuewith active sky 6.5 and r/w weather (is there anyother way to fly!!) i dropeed my screen res down to 1024x768 and got about 10-15fps improvement, i had it set on 2056x1024 and was getting about 5-10fps. the frames do drop to around 5-10fps when landing at any graphic intensive freeware airports in nz, but i like the eye candy, so i live with this, hoping to upgrade my pc this year for fsx, but am going to wait for prices to drop and stability to increase

alright, I picked it up today. My, its very nice. 1600x1200 @100hz suites me fine  The banner at the top of the page, now only takes up half the width! All my games run flawlessly, even after being switched to 1600x1200 with 4xaa, except need for speed carbon, which even then is playable. FS looks superb, and I dont have that stupid jagged fuzzy edge thing like I had before

So if its the video one minute, then hard drives not detecting, then some sort of memory corruption, its somewhat symptomatic of the mobo on its last legs. Having said that, it could be something simple... is the inside of your comp nice and clean? No big deposits of dust? Sometimes, a buildup of dust will lead to shorts on the mobo which results is random errors. yup its all clean in there, no piles of dust :D

Kelburn, just warning you the Lappys are not very good for gaming in general. Gaming uses up battery power at an alarming rate (you might get 3-5 hours of gaming?), and they get quite warm. I have a mac book for school, with games itll last about 2 hours on battery, thats those pointless mindless boring games such as "halo" lol with fs on a laptops battery itd really drain it. But laptops woudl have chargers so wouldn't be too much of a concern ;)

Well spotted! Another point for you. I don't know if this really counts, but at the end when the voice over say "smashing the world 3DMark record...", he's clearly still fiddling in the BIOS (probably wondering where the hard drives are).

seriosly I sugest you do a reinstall, if its an ongoing problem finding the solution could really be quite difficult, if rewriteing the cfg doesn't work jsut do a reinstall, back up all the fodler in your fs folder then just copy them back once installing fs9 and 9.1....... then youd know for sure if its fs or your pc...

Actually, now that I think of it, Craig was having the same problem. He took the side off his box and chucked a USB fan near it so the fan sounds good to me
