Get the biggest, fastest CPU you can afford, and the more cores the better. FS is largely CPU-bound, which means that improving the processor will generally show more benefit than improving the gfx card. (unless you are particularly unhappy with the 6600, you may want to hold off that part until the Autumn/Spring, to see what the "DX10 update" brings...)

System sounds good yeah more psu is a great idea I like enermax, Fast ram is a Must at least 1066mhz althought as to the amound I would stick with 2gb although I have not used FSX much it has never used anywhere close to 2gb of Ram, Sound Blaster? I am guess this would be a X-FI, sound card If you can afford it I would suggest looking at a faster HDD maybe a 10000rpm drive, or raid even, holy grail being a SAS raid config but that would be very very expensive, again tripple head2go is a must adds a hole new level to Flight sim also work with racing games such as GRT2 and Testdrive Unlimited

USB2 is still half the speed of SATA150. It has a burst rate of 480Mb per second, while SATA150 can sustain up to 1.5Gb per second. So yes, you will find that for FlightSim, USB2 will slow you down. You may experience stutter, pauses etc... Ran

Another good one is WinXP + SP2 install disk <_< I usually do it every 3 or 4 months, just to keep the system running nice and fresh... one of these days I'll actually go and create a Ghost image of a fresh install... so I can get it back up in about 15 minutes :)

Looks pretty cool, I was looking for Safari for Windows (I was being told by mac users how great it is, and wanted to try it for myself) and now have finally got the chance. Looks pretty good, but I don't know if it has quite convinced me to switch from FF ;)

yeah, card or usb headset.... but for me its more like 'free' spare card vs. $$$ for usb headset... so thats a fairly easy choice to make... the only issue was that for some reason the card was not being initialised by the BIOS properly (ie. not in the big list of devices during POST)... which meant I couldnt install the SB Liveware drivers (no SB card detected, installer will close type errors)... I guess that's what happens when you put in a card that is like 5 years old into a modern machine :) In the end, I had to change the IRQ settings in the BIOS settings for...

just the normal type settings will be sweet anti -alis 4x on the card A filtering 8x on the card and play with performance /quaility settings on the card settings too then in the sim settings turn off anit-alis all together and change biliner filtering to triliner filtering ,also there are some changes to the cfg that you will find around from robin corn to help things load,, if you have any of the realnz scenerys it will be in a little blue book or in the readme help files on the cds .. also like alex said just play with sliders to see what is good id expect you to have clouds at 50% 3d...

Thanks Jimmy, i just moved the screens apart as you suggested but no luck. I have found out that if i run my secondary monitor as the primary monitor the problem stops! Is there any way of saving my desktop settings (i.e keep the icons in the same place) because when i restart the computer with the secondary monitor as primary, it loads up with icons in alphabetical order on the now primary monitor(hope that makes sense) If you go into display settings where it shows two monitors 1and 2, just click and hold and drag one of them to the other side of the other. This will change primary to...

It was in North West Africa but you may be onto the right track as I have started tuning the Nav 1 radio before a flight .I have FS9. I will take note. The frequences are 100.300, 108.500 , or 109.500 mostly in that area. Thanks
