I use FSScreen as well, in the options you can choose what format it saves it as, either a .bmp, .gif, .jpeg, or .png /winkyy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= ;) border= 0 alt= winkyy.gif />. Its a great little program, nice and light as well. You can download FSScreen from . There are also a few screenies of the program and some instructions etc. /winkyy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= ;) border= 0 alt= winkyy.gif /> Alex

Hi guys, thanks very much for all the input and it appears very obvious that i should be upgrading the VRam. I will take all this on board and actually show the PC builder the comments. Great to have so much feedback and interest in an excellent forum Barrington /clapping.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= clapping.gif />

QUOTE(veryshort @ Aug 17 2007, 11:29 PM) I think I can live with a "Chunk" missing from the hill ....lol Yeah, come to think of it, it may have been a bit of an overkill ravaging the surrounding countryside just to fix a little dimple... Thanks for your comment, Andrew.

I use Avast antivirus and run Zonelabs Zonealarm - and firefox as a browser - touch wood I have had no problems and don't seem to get bothered by these things. All 3 are freeware. Avast was recommended to me by the IT techs at work as it's what they use on their own personal computers and if it's good enough for them then it's good enough for me. hope it helps cheers

QUOTE(Jimmy @ Aug 11 2007, 12:51 PM) Thats cos FSX multiplayer is a mess.. You can only conect by exiting your flight and going in threw the multiplayer menu, and then youl finaly get conected and planted thousands of feet in the air "near the host", happens almost everytime.. James Right, a bit off the track there, No FSX is not a "Mess" but true you have to go out to the main screen to get multiplayer, oh and with that starting up thousands of feet up in the air, it happens less and less I find with SP1 and the main causes I find are if the host is maybe using a...

Well, in the end I decided to get a GeForce 7950GT with 512Mb (details also in my sig). It was over $100 cheaper than the one I was thinking of, and I'm not sure after next year if I'll get much simming time in, so I thought I wouldn't splash out too much. /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif /> Alex

so if you have the cpu and the ram/ power pack ,then you upgrade your card ,ofcourse it would improve your performance , so if you have a old cpu p4 and something like 1gig of ram ,and upgrade your card from fx5600 256mb to 7600gt or 8600gts ddr3 with a higher clock etc...ofcourse this would increase performance so ,just depends what your system was and what g/card you are upgrading too , ive gone from 32bit to 64bit huge leap ,then from 64bit to 128mb massive increase next was 128 to 256 even better the that 256 to another 256 later model card ,even better for me ,so i even went out and got...

Motherboard:Gigabyte GA-945PL-S3 CPU: E6400,2.13 core 2 duo Memory: 2GB@533 Graphics: WinFast PX7600GS 256MB PCI 16x This is what I call a low end system for FSX,I use reduced autogen textures, clouds and water which are all available from AVSIM.Except for around large airports,I get between 28-38FPS,around the large airports I drop to 12-15.I have also tweaked the config file so that I don't seem to get any blurries or stutters,also,SP1 for fsx has been installed.Autogen is full up,as is the level of detail radius.Mesh complexity is set at 80,Mesh resolution 1M,texture resolution=1M,Water...

Have you done a defrag lately and checked on your programmes thats running ,how many Yup, and surprisingly it managed to go all night defraging with out locking up, I suppose thats cos theres alot less strain on the system during a defrag, I use "ultimate defrag" a payware program I got in the bundle deal for fsx pre order last year. And not to many programs. I'll just save my pennys and get a nice 700W one. /tongue.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :P border= 0 alt= tongue.gif /> Will I be able to sell my old one on that trademe or something? Then that would help towards...
