Its not that hard. Most switch mode powersuplies have a 240 / 120 switch on them just make sure it in the correct possie. As for frequency it isnt much of an issue with switch modes which is what most things use these days. Just be aware that your mains power is very rarely 240 volts, i have being in places where its down to 232 or as high as 245. This is mainly an issue with devices that only have a 220V switch as they may be running slightly over stressed and may fail.

Camtasia studio records the screen like with fraps- but has way more options. It saves the recording as .wmv, .mpeg, .avi etc which you can then just transfer to your video camera via USB and playback on the LCD screen. Demo here:

well, I opened up the door today and found a rather large parcel on my door step. Opened it up, and among all the packaging, the were 2 video card boxes. /biggrin.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :D border= 0 alt= biggrin.gif /> i havnt really played around with them, but my FPS in all games pretty much doubled (except FS9 and FSX which saw no gains). I now see solid 60FPS at 1600x1200 on Test drive Unlimited, with everything on high and 4x aa. Not bad /tongue.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :P border= 0 alt= tongue.gif /> And, I still have to overclock! /smiliz2.png style=...

I found the recipt under a massive pile of envolopes. Gave my dad the recipt number etc. and he talked to the people at Atech. He bought another hard drive and was given "memtest" because apparently RAM errors can sometimes exactly the same as hard drive errors. As the RAM was not the problem i put the hard drive in today and all is well!(we can't take it back but hey the PC works) I'll probably try to get a refund for the broken hard drive(bought jam 03 2007 so well within warranty) Thanks for all the advice guys. Much appreciated James

cr@p- I just installed the 94.20 drivers and I've got this problem again. Can't remember how I fixed this before /dry.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= <_< border= 0 alt= dry.gif /> Bugger! EDIT: installed an old 66.93 driver and it seems to have fixed it. I get some minor flickering between selection and menu screens but I can live with that!

FS9 is a single core app, so you will gain no benefit from more cores. Even FSX only gains marginal benefit with more than 2 cores. You'd be far better off with a CPU that runs fewer cores, faster. Of course, you don't mention what else you might want to run...

Have a look at the date of the upload. The older it is, the less likely it is to work in FSX. That's not a hard and fast rule though. The reason is that development techniques change over time and between sims, and scenery developers sometimes do and sometimes don't keep up. In genera,l stuff developed for FS2004 stands a fair chance of working in FS2004. Stuff developed for FS2004 using FS2004 SDK techniques has a fair chance of working in FSX. But stuff developed for FS2004 using the old FS2002 techniques is unlikely to work in FSX. "Working" of course is also a variable...

You'll have a very long wait for an FSX version of FSNav. As an alternative, you could take a look at FSCommander which works with both FSX and FS9. Slightly different methodology, but just as good. /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif />

Yeah, definately not the radeon. Absolutely no overclocking on that thing, and the coolers mean to be junk... really not my cup of tea. Also, no SLI for later on. Another card just entered my options. Perhaps one of these and a cooler to match? Ill keep you informed. Man I love shopping... /laugh.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= laugh.gif />
