I think you'll find that the video 'card' is also using shared mem... so of the 384Meg of system memory, anywhere up to around 128 is being shared for video. To be honest, I would think twice about even running just WinXP with a web browser/basic office apps on a machine like that (eg. 512Meg RAM would be my bare minimum for WinXP)... let alone something that needs lots of CPU grunt and a decent graphics card like FS... If you want to improve the framerate to a 'decent' level (eg. 25+ FPS), you are going to need a new computer...

yes I have ticked it but in theory (well in the NVidia menu) you can tell the card to override the applications settings as the AA in fs9 only allows it to go up to 4x and my card is capable of 32x?

Vista is: C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FS9 (obviously, change 'Tim' to your username) AppData is a 'hidden' folder, so make sure you have the 'Show Hidden Folders' option selected.

QUOTE (brownbox @ Nov 11 2007, 08:12 PM) Cool, thanks for the help guys. How about the bass? /tongue.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :P border= 0 alt= tongue.gif /> Obviously only a 5.25" sub would not blow your head off, but was it decent? The bass is alright. Not great...... but its the best you'll get in that price range!

My Two Cents Have done this many times hand had it work and fail many time, if the motherboards have the same chipset there is a chance it will work, lots of new devices will be detected have driver disks handy. Window will need to be reactivated if it is an OEM copy of windows you will be breaking the licensing agreement. The Reason it doesn't work normally is due to windows expecting a different hard drive controller it is a bit hid and miss, even if it doesn't work if you still have the windows cd a repair install can be done if you know what your doing its very easy if you...

For the record, the PS3 sim we are building here at Pacific Simulators is limited to 35 fps, and there it pretty much sits, unless the weather and AI is pushed to the limit somewhere like Sydney.. It has the 8800GT Ultra 768mb gfx card in it. Having more frames than that is not an advantage, as it can cause other things to slow down.. Have a read of this: This is from the blog of Steve Lacy, one of the guys who built FS9..

QUOTE (HardCorePawn @ Nov 6 2007, 09:29 PM) As long as you have not installed things in other places, I think you can do this... However, you'll probably find you need to resetup the FS registry entries... otherwise when you go to install things using installers (like RealNZ stuff) it'll probably choke... there are little utilities that do this for you (I cannot remember them offhand, but google should help 'FS9 registry fix') Thanks for the tips!! Smooth landings.

Errr no... RAM has a very minimal impact on the power required most of it is rated at like 3.3 volts or something equally small... and steps in increments of like 0.01volts when you're overclocking etc... It is the other bits and bobs like GPU's (most of the newer ones require external power), HDD's & Optical Drives that cause the drain on the PSU.... cause they're the ones hanging directly off it... if your RAM is underpowered, that would indicate that either: a. Your RAM is not compatible with your Mobo b. You mobo is fubar

QUOTE (HardCorePawn @ Oct 23 2007, 09:48 AM) If the files are actually deleted from the file system... the answer is no (unless you have a backup of the folder/files for some reason)... I assume you have actually enabled all the scenery's in the scenery library (make sure they're all ticked)... ??? Other than that, probably the quickest (and least frustrating) is to just reinstall... Thanks Hardcore
