Actually I am now looking at the E8500 CPU. Runs cool and very overclockable. Justr got to look for a suitable board now. Always the trouble when you take too long to commit!

QUOTE As far as i can determine, there is NO WAY that you can seperate out MSFS ATC speech from flightsim9 general sounds. BUGGER Unfortunately you are correct... you can only do that in FSX...

QUOTE (gokanru @ Jan 1 2008, 09:29 AM) Core 2 duo is the way to go as is pci express16.Minimum power supply to go for is 450 watt, more is preferably.Abit or Asus motherboard is my choice.XP pro is my operating system, gonna be a long time before I go for Vista. At the end of the day it is your choice, personally I'm glad I went for the core 2 duo  +1 I have an Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 (2.66GHZ) and it runs sweet with my FSX :plane:

QUOTE (deaneb @ Dec 21 2007, 06:27 PM) Finally bought a standard Belkin G router & ADSL 2 modem. I had it up and running pretty quickly with the laptop (wireless) running Vista, but had a few other issues to sort out on the desktop (wired) running Win XP. I am stoked with the performance. We have a large modern house and I have no difficulty accessing the net anywhere in the house, even with five or six walls in the way. Download speeds have in some cases exceeded what I was getting with my old ADSL modem. Thanks for feedback Deane Hi deane, i know it´s a little bit late, but...

All old nVidea drivers were un-installed before i began the install of the ATI stuff. I un-instaled the ms .net framework 2.0, and unistalled the latest ATI driverset i had. Naki gave me a Genuine ATI install disc for an X-800, and i installed the graphics driverset only (no Catalyst software), and also the older ms .net framework 1.1 that was on the disc (i was running 1.1 before), and all is GOOD again !! :) The driverset is an older one from early 2006, but it works fine. Thanks for the disc Paul !  Lawrie. >nzflag<

Hi, i have been running FS9, Active Sky 6.5 and other add ons on my old pc, i would get about 10-20fps in default airports with full traffic. without active sky i would get less FPS. active sky is one of the best programs i have run, and improved my FPS alot. my old comp was a pentium 2.4 celeron with 1 gb ram, and a 128 ati 9250 agp card, so ut was not a flash one. my new computer that i find out about tomorrow is as follows, Acer M5630 desktop, Core 2 duo 2.4g e4500, 2gb ddr2 667 ram, ATI radeon hd 2400 256mb, dvd-rw hd-dvd blu-ray dvd rom, wireless keyboard and mouse, and windows vista...

At a guess... Assume you're pointing to the zip file inside the zip file? No? Unzip the file you downloaded to desktop, say, where it will create a folder. Point the installer to the zip file inside that folder.
