QUOTE (brotonee @ Mar 18 2008, 07:20 PM) Ring the helpdesk! It will be the easiest and best course of action. Also at some stage when you get all this sorted out and have a while to use Xnet, would you mind telling me what you think of them and their service? Sure!, i already know their helpdesk service is a bit slack its machine for 2 button presses then it tries re-directing you witch seems to be infinitely just telling you "if you are having any phone problems try unplugging your modem then plugging it back in"

QUOTE (NZ255 @ Mar 11 2008, 04:29 PM) Is there a way we can recycle the licence? Because we have the CD's? Yes you can use the same license. If it won't properly activate you can ring them up and they'll activate it for you. I've done this countless times and they never ask why.

QUOTE (ronindanbo @ Mar 2 2008, 05:54 AM) I think you will find FSX allows the Saitek throttle to do mixtures by normal assignment its FS9 that is the main problem. He is using FS9. I will pass all this info onto him. Thanks.

QUOTE (ZK-MAT @ Feb 25 2008, 08:46 PM) They refer to a potentiometer (pot), which is a device that regulates current or amps across a preset range dependent where the position of the stick is. It twists like a throttle on a motorbike. Go to and search for potentiometer. Heaps there! Ah ha, thanks alot!

Once you have installed RealNZ into FSX, you will never look back at FS9!! Well worth buying the Wellington FSX version, and if you still have the original cds for the Marlborough FS9 version, then it already includes a FSX version on that cd. RealNZ sceneries should be on everyone's must-have list, great value for money and top notch quality. Smooth landings.

See my post above  If you are smart, well-connected, and your time is worth nothing, I'd understand why you'd want to build your own. But for just about everybody else, the sum doesn't shake out. I cost pain and suffering at time-and-a-half or better. By the time you've added up the build, the frustration, the crashes, the fixes, the troubleshooting, the coffee... you'd be better off buying something custom made with a warranty, that works, out of the box. I find a lot of the time, some of the bits I'd like aren't even available as a loose item. And if you...

Tick the Saitek box for me  Im using an X-45 throttle and stick combo and its been faultless for the last 2 years. Solid as all hell, plenty of buttons so you'll barely need to touch the keyboard once you get it set up. The added bonus for me, is the alloy casing on the top of the bases - doesnt melt when ash from my cigs drop on it during a night time approach in a thunderstorm courtesy of AS6 :P

QUOTE (greaneyr @ Feb 11 2008, 08:30 PM) I'm a joystick user... Mostly because I didn't want the clunkiness of a yoke on my desk but also since I fly helos a lot of the time too. I'm a Saitek Cyborg Evo user, but also use a set of home modified pedals, which means I get to set the twist axis to something other than rudder. I use it for 'turn head left and right'. It's great in VC mode and means you can quickly snap your view back to the centre when you need it. I couldn't do this if I used a yoke sine there's no twist mode. When I fly bigger metal, I...

QUOTE (deaneb @ Feb 14 2008, 09:26 PM) Have you got MSVCR70.dll installed ?? If not install it, otherwise it may have been corrupted and need replacing. From memory these DLL files are in your windows system or system32 folder. You should be able to Google MSVCR70.dll to download it. Deane Thanks for the suggestion Deane, already did that but had already sussed it out, re-loaded "ga-traffic_setup" and then un-installed it again and hey presto all was okay though I haven't a clue as to what caused it ? Sweet! Cheers for your advice guys :) swapped cards around between the two units and the results were much better (still not quite as good as the XP install though). Should tide me over until sometime after Warbirds over Wanaka when i get some cashflow happening again.

what bb said QUOTE you could uninstall them all and reinstall the newest version .but id tick the box in the show updates off in the Add/remove programs tool , this way you would maybe only see the one program installed JRE updates are just that updates to a early version ,the early version is still needed as its the base of the program the updates that you listed are the updates to that base software ,delete anyone of them and you will cancel out part of it and the whole program wont work..
