It appears you may have two afcads and they are conflicting with each other .. you have not tried to or installed a FS9 by mistake or have FS9 running on the PC as well or at any stage had it installed ?

QUOTE (toprob @ Jul 17 2010, 04:22 PM) No worries, it's a good way to show simmers and anyone contemplating scenery design what some of the issues really are. Some of what you seeing is not related to the mesh at all, but rather the water polygons, which tend to flatten the coastline to the level of the water, in this case sea-level. Since the water polys have to be designed to work with any mesh, they need to be a bit over-zealous, cutting into the mesh to some degree. This is an issue with any important features which border the water -- Mt Maunganui is an example, in FS2004...

I seem to recall that the only file it adds to Scenery\World\Scenery is NZMF_ADEX_VLC_ALT.BGL.

Just reminded of this seeing a post on Laurie's old subforum. I could host the libraries on my site, 'unofficially', anyway. I just need to figure out one thing -- the current Libraries version might not be what people want. These days it includes a few extra things, including SODE support and the bare bones of a custom autogen. There isn't really any NZ freeware which uses these new features, though, the first will probably be the Prepar3d v4 Hokitika which I've been meaning to release... So it might be a better solution for someone else -- maybe NZFF? -- to host an earlier version which...

Again another old posting ... Reason I have headed this way is a speedy quick re-install of FSX , yes own the primary 'Big O' I simply don't spend time at the mo but I do want a quick working FS without a required muck fix on airfields ... fortunate I had the foresight to plan for both ... GLOBAL has to take a break as well .

Hi Timmo. The version I have has the P3D installer and no patch (at least I don't think there is a patch). The lights are not on during the day but switching them off cures the problem. A bit bizarre.

Well after many proving flights it seems that the lights are in fact the issue....even in the daytime. Ops normal with them off.

Thanks, Robin. Results of experimentation (so far) are: TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL=2000 (as per Holger Sandmann's Tongass Fjords X recommendation) which resulted in heavy stuttering, then stepping down, sequentially, to TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL=1000 where there is no stuttering and FPS are constant at 24.9/25. Will consider this a quick and dirty "fix" for this problem; but will comment out the entry before flying elsewhere in NZ, though.

Hello. Toprob: Yes it works without vector and I have not tried messing too much with the library. Timmo: No no AI traffic mate ..... actually I do not enjoy AI traffic it does some pretty unrealistic stuff sometimes.
