QUOTE (Trolly @ Feb 13 2009, 01:30 PM) /whathesaid.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :hesaid: border= 0 alt= whathesaid.gif /> Cheers for posting the photos mate, you lucky, lucky guy! Tell me Paul- does that Merlin sound as brutal and grunty as it does from the outside of the Stang, or is it baffled and quite inside the cockpit? I for one just love the drone that the P51 makes on fast appoaches and low fly-bys... must have been a spectacular experience to actually be a POB! Hi Trolly, Well I'd hardly say inside the cockpit was baffled or quiet! Without the...

QUOTE (Alex @ Feb 9 2009, 04:38 PM) Haha, I'm pretty sure Paul knows what a radial engine is. I think that post was meant to have a mild tone of disbelief - the Convair doesn't have radial engines, they are turboprop (Allison I think?) My bad- my above comment was a guess from memory. As I said, I hadn't heard or seen a Conny in action for quite some time, and just guessed from the loud drone that they were radial driven- time to go study Mr. Wikipedia! /icon_redface.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :whoops: border= 0 alt= icon_redface.gif />

QUOTE (pilotgallagher01 @ Feb 7 2009, 08:37 PM) I will definetley ask if i go on a Jet and if you show them a Medical or something they know your not a crazy passenger I'm not a pilot and have no licence nor even a medical, however, I do have a few items that could be used as proof that I'm a contriubtor to the industry. I'm just picturing lining up to board and pulling a folder out of my carry-on bag containing photographs I've had published and articles I've written that have been printed in magazines! Then, I'm trying to imagine someone like Gavin...

Nice to see the SE5s and Camel got up on Sunday! Still not seen any pics of the Tripehound up and about, so they musn't have risked it. Yeah, always love seeing NZ918 on the way through, but also increasingly miffed she's STILL THERE! One of the oldest Harvards in the country. You'd think they'd replace her with a fibreglass one, but ah well. Once I get my boatloads of money I'll donate an insignificant type to them to replace it.....like a 737-300......

QUOTE (Trolly @ Jan 18 2009, 03:08 PM) Your photos have come out quite clear- what sort of camera are you using? A high-tech jobbie? Dad's Nikon digital SLR - great for G2A shots! Worked out quite nicely, especially with the choppers and Tiger /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif />

Those coral atolls looks beautiful from the air- that must be a dream job flying up there, all that beautiful scenery and much less crowded airspace than over here in NZ. Look forward to batch #2! /thumbup1.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= thumbup1.gif />
