Cool photos, it's great to see the DC-3 still serving on in an active role, even in that heavily modified form.

Cool shots dude, its pretty awesome that Rotorua is getting the A320. I just read some article that was saying they're having to cut the maximum passengers allowed SYD-ROT down to 123 because some old coot wont cut down his tree at the end of the runway. /laugh.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= laugh.gif />

Nice, thanks Gavin... I read that apparently there was some controversy in Canada over that particular pickup too...seems the Canadian taxpayer didn't appreciate the C17 detouring to NZ on the way home from Afghanistan, in order to pick up a P40 for a private warbird collection in Canada... Mark

Nice to see that it all worked out for you. Very rare indeed to get a jumpseat on international flights in this day and age, well done.

QUOTE (Ian Warren @ Oct 3 2009, 02:01 PM) Maybe a Ball Turret Gunner position /winkyy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= ;) border= 0 alt= winkyy.gif /> a B17 or 24 , replace them .5 s with your assortment of cameras , yeah yeah .. no one is going to buy a Flying Fortress , bugger .. anyone with any other ideas /tongue.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :P border= 0 alt= tongue.gif /> Maybe a souped up Bristol Fighter and fix the camera to the rear gun mount for those rearward shots. /tongue.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :P border= 0 alt= tongue.gif />

Cheers for posting Alex- looks heaps better than the show I went to last year. So envious of seeing the Vulcan in flight too- it had broken day the previous weekend when I was there and unable to make an appearance.

QUOTE (Trolly @ Sep 26 2009, 04:43 AM) Saw a green Nanchang fly into Ardmore this morning around 10am- anything to do with you Gavin? Also saw a Cessna in formation with the Catalina over Auckland yesterday, wonder it it was an air to air photography mission? Wasnt me Trolly. We thought about coming up yesterday but time wouldnt have been on our side but with daylight savings coming it could be a different story.

QUOTE When the Pacific Blue and Air NZ 767's landed at night the red Anti Col light used to light up my tent. SO it was quite noisey Sorry about that ole chap... Company policy mandates full reverse on every landing... saves on brakes.. and the thought of using assumed temperature derate came to mind for takeoff.. but wasn't much in it.... so full 26K of thrust it was.. hope you didn't get too many sleepless nights... They should have put you on the golf course at Aggies instead.... /biggrin.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :D border= 0 alt= biggrin.gif />
