It would be interesting to see one off these on approach to 29 but I guess they are going to have to widen and strengthen the taxiway.

Funny the old days when deciding aircraft types for NZ back in the late 1960s Boeing was the solid choice because it flew thru the rough air , BAC111 and DC-9 and Caravelle were not going to cut the mustard , appears ARBUSTS are proving what was proved 40 years back .. let the pilots fly the plane rather the plane fly the pilots.

Pesky crew, a nice noise cancelling headset would've saved them some engine development money :) It's still an H model Interesting... amazing to think the original Herkiebirds had just 3 blades. I'd have thought the growth in blades would be directly related to absorbing more engine power.

Well Marty , not sure what it is , those LC's .. just something just makes em look the part , I still remember the very early US NAVY jobs running their engines up directly in front of the terminal , that was before the pier at NZCH ... even the C141A s were Silver polish .. those were the days !

Self Addressed Envelope on the way, thanks Marty... Funny, I drive past MOTAT a few times every month, and it's somehow never on the agenda. Thanks for posting, Greg, must make the time... Glad to be a motivating force for you, it's taken me long enough to get there

Hmm, a C 650 (N163JM) and G 650 (N946JB) are quite different beasts. While the Citation is a magic little jet with reasonable range it has nowhere the same legs as the Gulfstream G650, and in the case of N946JB it has had the ER modifications carried out to give it that little bit of extra reach. Certainly a game changer for the discerning traveller not wishing to make "techstops" on the way to their ultimate destination!

They left the Beach Babe alone PHEWY , one of craziest actions was a Wigram trained Strikemaster driver, flying around North Canterbury, winter long weekend 1985, course mom and pop own a farm in the region , decided to showboat and showoff :P , fly's straight into hi-tension cables  .. Boy that boy was in trouble ... come to think I never followed up on what happened to the bloke ... he's probably still peeling potatoes  ..... ... ... ...! Shades of Texas Country-boys!..... ...! Red-Necks....I meet them on the Internet, every day!...
