I just found some brilliant airliner.net shots by a guy called Rob Neal: Rob Neal is the editor/owner of Pacific Wings magazine - many of these shots are in the mags

In Auckland, Christchurch and Queenstown you can fly the Flight Experience simulators, full B737 cockpits compleate with FS9 and Real NZ loaded. They are not full motion, but the next best thing and also Tauranga

"Anyway, I used to shoot a fair number of air shows and seem to remember 1/ 60 working quite well. You should be able to shoot and check the results on your D70 right. 1/60 is plenty fast for shooting airplanes. They are not going to be very close, so just pan along and shoot two or three frames at a time. Your results will be fine." (found somewhere on the net). 1/60 seems like a recipe for disaster, but I might just do some experimenting at Omaka this weekend. I'm determined to get it right for once, but it may take a couple more airshows. Yeah, if you dont get the technique...

Do you have any more photos from inside the camberra ? i.e up the front and the radio/navigator behind... I have been in it, very cool nose section. That aircraft was flying untill reciently (last couple of years) and it still has the modern avionics in the back..

just adding another spot, the hill in the red circle is good, but its a steep hike (good exercise :D ) and you need a good zoom if youre filming. good for 34 landings/departures

Some very fine shots Jon - I kept going back to "Gear down and locked..." Great thought, would make a good video clip, reflected in the spinner, slow zoom as the gear drops. Good idea, the challenge is the prop. I had to take about 4 shots to get the blades in the right place, video may be an issue unless you were in 2A fwd of them.

Nooo, an amateur is me. My job requires me to travel heaps (Duh!). The flights and photos are one of the benefits.
