The last I saw, the syndicate had folded and the aeroplane was up for sale. That was a few months back though and I haven't seen anything about it it since. that's a bummer !!! wonder if they could keep it in boat-mode-ready state if not viable for flying for some reason, engines running but just taxi and float around?

They need to improve the zoom function and the SLR is kaput . Yup .. wont be long now right. For the pixel pushers will take awhile to get the clarity a big piece of glass can offer but w all the processing of images that goes on and the resolution you really usefully NEED on a puter screen an SLR is pretty much redundant now

Thanks for looking....C-27 is a Spartan. . I always thought these would be a great stopgap between the C-130's and C-17's we could have had. Think of them as an Andover replacement....but that's another conversation.

From what I've read, the KC-135Rs were on something like a farewell tour to all the places that have been visited by them. With the KC-46 Pegasus slowly taking over the tanker role, that wouldn't surprise me.

Regarding the 135's, amazing they have a combined age of 122 years, 58, and 64. Boeing really build/built good stuff.

Lovely photos Charl, thanks for sharing! For those interested: both the P-40 and P-51D are for sale. Good to see the Strikemaster back in camo, it spent some time as a lime green advertising hoarding... Different Blunty - that was NZ6370/ZK-STR .

Couldn't really make a thread for this, so just idly: Driving north on the Hibiscus Coast, I noticed a contrail. Starting at the horizon, and growing toward me at quite a pace! Aircraft are usually letting down below 10,000ft. around there, so unusual to see. By the time I'd found a spot to pull off, he'd passed me already so I lost the horizon shot. Whipped out Flight Radar to see it was headed for CHCH, which explained the altitude... but not the route.

Haha yeah that one's been doing the rounds for a while. The 44 is good like that, it's very predictable. Wouldn't be that smooth in other types
