QUOTE (Chairman @ Sep 23 2009, 12:20 AM) I just realised that Dairy Flat is a heck of a lot closer to home than Ardmore. Anyone know what the spotting possibilities are like there ? Gary Depends how busy it is. You get a good view down the runway from the Postman Road, but if you talk nicely to the folks at the aeroclub I'm sure they'll let you take pics from the 'airside' of the aeroclub building. .... the angle and height of the shot I think. And maybe the angle and altitude of the aircraft! Usually at RC meets this kind of flying ends with the pilot and his helper collecting bits from behind the shrubbery.

ZK-SAE survives near Woodbourne in NZ and ZK-SAF may exist in parts still but is essentially scrapped. Both are still near Woodbourne. ZK-SAE at the Runway Cafe to the North West of Woodbourne as you said and ZK-SAF fuse and centre wing on a farm less than 100m west from the South West corner of Woodbourne airfield.

I noticed when Qantas introduced their indigenous liveries, the tails all had the flying kangaroo clearly displayed. I can understand the ATC folk having difficulties picking the BA aircraft YEAH .... QF applied those Balarinji Studio designed Australian aboriginal artworks to just the fuelage and engine nacelles (only) of 3 of it's B747's .... a -338 VH-EBU "Nalanji Dreaming, and 2 -438's VH-OJB and VH-OEJ "Wanalla Dreaming), and later B737-838 VH-VXB "Yananyi Dreaming" too .... each as as follows .... The B747's were regular visitors to AKL during the late 1990's .... as...

I am sure it was 1988 before the Aussie Display at RAAF Richmond and may have served as a final "practice". According to this link Kiwi Red performed from 1988-1990. Some better photos here.

Depending on the winds, I sometimes see and hear this chap go past. Sort of "Aim for BNE and then bear right for CHC" He goes through about FL350, and around the same time is a Singapore Airlines flight on descent for Bris, before heading for NZAA. ATB to you and yours for Easter. Mike
