I can't speak as to the float plane and MD500, but IMHO the best freeware fighter jet out there is SectionF8's F-86 Sabre. While it doesn't drop bombs or fire rockets, it does fire it's machine guns and release it's drop tanks (which is about all a real KW era F-86 did). The handling is right on par, and the engine and hydraulics systems will actually die on ya if you don't treat 'em right /biggrin.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :D border= 0 alt= biggrin.gif /> The Sabre is more fun if you have Oldtimer52's MiG-15bis pack /smile.gif style=...

Its Great. Not getting into another MSFS vs X-Plane Debate but you will either love it or hate it... Most people who hate it are the ones that think its fun to have a program to fly planes that they will understand when they first pick it up but if you have a week to learn the ins and outs of the sim. But seeing as your a real pilot (or your sig looks like it) you will probably like it. Download the Demo here . It will only give you ten mins to fly around but its a full representation of what X-Plane looks like except for the fact that X-Plane only has one airport with airport buildings. But...

QUOTE (deeknow @ Dec 4 2007, 08:34 PM) I guess this might also shoe-horn into the "NZ Retro AI Project and Airport Sceneries" project somehow (which I just noticed when searching :-) ... so I'll have a good read of that forum now. Just resurrecting this thread ... to say I'm going to work through the list in msg #1 and update NZFSIM accordingly /winkyy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= ;) border= 0 alt= winkyy.gif />

QUOTE (fsafranek @ Jan 22 2009, 04:23 PM) The download process is straight forward. And the notes have been adjusted based on the experience of a few. Basically you register in the Skysim store to create an account (no money questions), then download it for free. When you install it the Flight1 wrapper handles the payment. I had it in my hot little hands as soon as it was released .. I downloaded to the desktop , i saved it in docs and settings the flight1 wrapper appeared , once an answer was found with the MS 4.5 installer ..... SMOKIN! /biggrin.gif style= vertical-align:middle...
