QUOTE (AndrewJamez @ Oct 22 2010, 01:01 PM) Those custom skins look REAL Good, however the model is very old and if you can hang on a bit longer, PMDG is in the middle of doing a Dash 8 with full systems modeling. I'm sure it will worth waiting for. I guess it'll only be released for FSX, but I'll probably get it anyway for my 'standby' FS PC - my simpit is only running FS9 at the moment. I'm having some stability issues with the Nvidia Surround drivers which need to be sorted out so I can get back on Vatsim, then I'll look at moving everything to...

Well believe it or not the Tauranga machine is having a rocket motor fitted. The APU/turbine engine had some issues that made it impractical for flying....not that the rocket engine is proving much better. The major issue at the moment is the amount of residual thrust at "idle". Braking is a definite problem and may require a drag shute. He is not flying at the moment as he has a stauch going with airways over fees that is going to court. They will not issue him with a takeoff clearance during controlled hours.

QUOTE (RNZAF @ Oct 18 2010, 08:12 AM) R.I.P to the people in the 750 who died at fox glacier I'm not sure what that has to do with this thread but the aircraft that you refer to was a Turboprop Fletcher not a 750

QUOTE (Ian Warren @ Oct 6 2010, 05:14 PM) I do have the Capt Siim X load F18 , currently not installed , i recall it being the two seat version , the paint still requires a painting program , the free most use GIMP and Imagetool, with that should be able paint the default Hornet . I have heard people say that the CS Paint kit works fine with the default, if you can PM me it I would greatly appreciate it but if not ill just try my hand at the slow way /plane.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :plane: border= 0 alt= plane.gif />

I added a black paint job...the original is still there for those who love it. Mfraser to create a slingload fuction...you simply need to edit the aircraft.cfg file and add a few lines just above electrical. I will post a link to a page that helped me to achieve this. Sling Load Page Two slings in action...gotta love this heli.

Markus , Have them all covered and they work fine in FSX , I prefer the old pin stripe ... /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif /> and yeah what is it with this "dull & boring low-viz" , like a bunch off girls trying to get in with the in-crowd or no imagination , low-viz ... i regularly see RNZAF Herc s heading back north - dark as hell stick out like dogs balls and now the Ice season is on us we have the USAF LC-130s heading South to the polar region .. they have a day glow for spotting in case off crash yet they are harder to spot !...

You don't need it Ian! /laugh.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= laugh.gif /> Maybe if it was FSX compatible.. yes, but since you mostly use X you might be better to spend elsewhere /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif /> Otherwise, this is a fantastic plane. One thing I noted today doing my reinstall of it is that their website and forum seem to have gone. I'm going to have to hunt through my discs now and hope I have the various patches around here somewhere /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border=...

QUOTE (Ian Warren @ Sep 17 2010, 03:22 PM) You gotta love these little addons , imagine how tough the air battles 70 seventy years back with these training devices would have been /ohmy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :o border= 0 alt= ohmy.gif /> In my combat sim days, I ran a Flanker 2.0 online head-to-head ladder and met a RL (Greek) F-16 pilot who was *unbeatable* in the sim. He said he used 100% RL tactics and that he and other members of his squadron often used the sim to test tactics. This was with a relatively old sim, old PCs and no TrackIR. What they could do now...
