QUOTE (AndrewJamez @ Apr 18 2011,9:35 PM) You think the 206 is good, wait till you get there newer stuff. Go for the B58 over the Seneca, I agree with alot of views that the flight model is a bit quirky. It seems overly pitchy in elevator and just doesnt feel right. The baron58 is like the bonanza (also another great aircraft) just more engines and more speed. Im still not sure about the seneca elevator. When flying the real seneca they are comparatively heavy to smaller single engines and taking the elevator to extremes potentially will give the same effect in the real plane as the...

QUOTE (Ian Warren @ Apr 14 2011,1:58 PM) ... i guess the retractable gear jobbie is a little pocket rocket /cool.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= B-) border= 0 alt= cool.gif />... Yeah, although not so as to frighten you, 130kt top end but accelerates and climbs very well. It is incredibly smooth, feels very sophisticated. Paul, yes I plopped the rego on in FS9. Don't know if it works in FSX as that is a model you buy separately.

Adam, I also like the 340 especially as it has a kiwi (and current Aussie with Rex) connection and have had various freebie models in FS9, and actually tried to buy the FFS model at one point... but sadly noone retails it any longer now that FFS is out of business. Do let me know if you find anyone selling it though. Paul Middleton reviewed it some time ago for avsim and gave it a pretty flat review really, have a read of this: As a note, in case you hadnt noticed it, PAD released an FSX 340 model which has a nice model, and an ok panel, cant complain for a freebie though:

I think the spinner's about right, they are supposed to come way down past the side bulge and the length is roughly the same as the fore-aft measurement of the front windscreen

QUOTE (keatles @ Mar 12 2011,5:14 PM) I have flown various types, from the DC-3 to B747-200. , it certainly can taxi on a single engine - Thanks Alan , as you said if it can fly it will taxi , Vertigo studios are working on a FSX DC-3 , the one i want , i did a test with the Demo Just Flight and results showed it works , simply the defaults are well in fault .

I often Google the aircraft type and add 'pilots operating handbook' or 'flight manual' you can often discover some good information. Some of the more friendly GA manufacturers actually have their handbooks and/or performance data on their websites and other have responded to a politely phrased e-mail. If you have a nearby flying club, pay them a visit and talk to the pilots there. Whenever I do a real world paint and I can actually get hold of the owner (which is most of the time), then the owner is always a mine of information. For all their sins, Carenado often have...
