with the flightsim manager the "free system RAM feature", what does that actuly do , I thort RAM didnt get cloged up. I rememeber it would always tell me I had like 80mb free RAM then after hitting the "clean" (or something like that) button a few times id hae 170. Confusing lol James If you run other programmes before you start FS, they don't always unload RAM completely. This can cause some degradation in FS performance. MS Word is especially sloppy at unloading. Actually, FS9 itself is particularly bad at unloading - try starting it after a reboot and see how slowly...

Thank you Lawrie! It ain't bad, but I know it's no GMax creation with photoreal buildings and a detailed GA area. But it IS workable until something better comes out, like Savern's, or Robin's (when he does come out with it). or Robin's (when he does come out with it)................ Must ask Robin if he's made up his mind yet whether its going to be Hamilton and Gisborne, or Napier and Hastings for CD number 5 ???? Yours has filled the gap nicely Rob. NZHN has been largely ignored for tooo long. Lawrie. >nzflag<

Problem with a lot of the statics is that they were hard-cosed in by Shayne Butler when the airports were originally made. Shayne made a non-static version, but some statics remained as they could not be removed without fully re-coding the scenery. I know, I've tried to remove a lot of the statics. But it's been a mess afterward. Robin! Please hurry and make an Auckland Airports pack (with a possible future upgrade to Whenuapai International Airport  )! Your assistance is required! cheers guys

yeah well that happens anyway. If im sitting on the ground (or in the air) at wigram for example when I look over towards nzch (I have Heaths photoreal one) my fps drop in half, its such a pain when IM flying a straight in app too. taxiway textures or not. I think once I have more RAM and a better grf card itll stop happening...I hope. ill see how it gos for a week then switch back to compare B)

Howdy, Been a while since I worked with EOD, but ... are all your paths configured correctly in the programme? Secondly, try saving the object with an underscore in the name eg.: NZMF_Term (afterall, it's an older design programme and might be balking at 8 characters in the name). Just a thought.

Isnt 375m the length that it has been shortened while construction work is happening on the southern end? Full operational length for NZWN is 1936m. The runway is only temporarily shortened to 1561m during nights where work is on. This is only done by sandbagging the flush lights and placing cans over the raised runway edge lights and the runway end lights. Temporary threshold and runway end lights are set up during these nights. Generally only one or two aircraft use the runway at its reduced length as the airport is closed to any flights bar the emergencys and the Vincent Cessna 402 that...

Kelburn. They are the SAME buildings. The Airports package for RealNZ Auckland is just the AIRPORTS ONLY from the Auckland 2005 Scenery package, modified to fit into Robin's RealNZ Auckland scenery. It has had the static aircraft etc at NZAA removed, along with all the other city buildings, roads and other scenery items that originally came in the Auckland 2005 Scenery. Its still a heavy hitter on fps depending upon how much AI traffic you are using, but its not as bad a hitter on fps as the older complete 2005 scenery was. Lawrie.

One final note. For some reason the LOD 13 tiles generated by Scenery Builder sometimes seem to "separate" slightly then come back together as you fly over them, especially in a north/south direction. This effect may be worse on some machines than others depending on your graphic card, drivers etc, but on the whole this method works really well with a much more realistic effect than the "ugly" straight edge you normally see in photoreal scenery. I originally meant to produce the Queenstown scenery using this method, as the colour imagery I started with...
