Has anyone tested it? Any good? Im tossing up whether to do my own for the White Island Scenery im doing.....or just use his. But im a sucker for realism and White island is pretty silent even when you are on the ground looking into the crater. Being able to hear it over a a/c engine seems a bit silly to me?

Its in the SDK: Installpath....\SDK\Environment Kit\Terrain SDK\Shp2Vec.exe Unfortunately...you will need to find a shapefile creation tool...i work with Shapefiles everyday so no worries for me but i suspect you may find it hard to actually create a shapefile polygon?.....(i.e. The software i use to create them costs tens of thousands of dollars PER LICENSE!)... There may be some free tools on the web though...or there may be an alternate way of creating polygon areas.... It might be possible to create areas using the autogen annotation tool Oops- I just realised i...

If that still doesn't work try going to the extreme right of the screen and selecting "Addon Scenery" rather than "Default Airports" or whatever it says.

OK will do as you advise. When I started with FS I didn't think there would be so much of interest other than just flying but I am learning fast with all your help. I can see why it has such a world-wide following. Cheers. Pat.

Hi Andrew , No chance of an exclude. I had installed the scenery into X as a further check and no it will require remodelling , but that is not so bad due to extra photo material again to fix old crash prob its just time .

Thanks dude that helped a lot :D I was tempted to start hunting for some lumberjacks for EZ Scenery  That would be my second choice if exclude builder doesnt work for you. :D It's very easy to use, one tip that will make life easier, you need to make sure the aircraft, or whatever vechicle u use when in top down view to create the exclude area, is pointing directly North when you set up the top left and bottom right exclusion points (if you havnt used exclubuilder yet this wont make sense, it will once you see it). If the aircraft is pointing anywhere other than north,...

I'm just starting to play with AFCAD as well. A whole new world is opening up. Natas put me onto a great tool called Excbuilder which you can use to remove unwanted objects from your scenery. From nosing around various places the following program seems to be the most recommended way to flatten scenery so that you can place your AFCAD and other objects on it. Though as the others have eluded too it's not the only way. Nunner mentioned it. FSTFlatten is available here. I loaded it up on my PC last night. I haven't had a chance to use it yet but from reading the "readme"...

Clyde W Levin :D Hi Clyde. AFCAD for NZMF, Milford Sound sent to the e-mail addy you supplied me. Regards, Lawrie. >nzflag<

The default Wanaka is on the wrong side of the road, as you've noticed, and the default Flatten cuts into the hill. There isn't much you can do about that, except remove the default Flatten. Moving the airport via AFCAD is easy enough, but you would need to make a new flatten, and exclude the autogen somehow. There is a fix for all this -- it's called Real New Zealand Wanaka:)

Sweet...im at home now and have the SDK documents. I had specified the null value to the colour of my water as a work around (had set the polygon colour as a horrid green before exporting to geotiff) but then i couldnt set the actual 'nodata' areas.....so i ended up with big blue areas (the colour i used as 'nodata' when i exported them from GIS) Yeah ive noticed that the 'freeway' traffic still shows/animates cars on the roads but of course the road textures are only going to have resolution equalling the aerial photo (i.e. poor...1m max) I thought it may be nicer...

Islands of the West Indies from Flight1. I bought that once- big mistake! The island textures are absoulte crap IMO, "hand painted"- no where close to photoreal! For SABA, I have this one installed: his Terrain Mesh scenery cover Saba Island in the Caribbean Sea. This scenery is a strong mesh with lots of details. Author: Raimondo Taburet. Makes a nice hop over from St Maarten :P

yup no problem i can tell you that nobody has had any frame problems with the scenery with max everything still doesnt effect the beta test team ,so id say it is something to do with your puter if you can run other scenerys such as mountcook or photoreal even a freeware airport that would have more single faces than my hamilton city as it was made with boxes with a photo paste on the sides ,the biggest frame hit would be the stadium or the hospital each with a bgl scenery file that you could remove anyway hope all this info may help in your problems with install mike
