It might just be a glitch peculiar to my set-up, but there's no question, if I put the Red Baron above those airports, the waterfront recedes about a mile. Never mind, at least we're up and running again. Unless I have mis-interpreted things, Real Tauranga and Rotorua aren't photo-real ?

There are a lot of different ways that folk map the world. WGS84 is just one of them, but this is the projection which MS chose for the sim. You can have a read about WGS84 here. In New Zealand we have out own mapping convention, which changed earlier this decade from NZMG (New Zealand Map Grid) to NZTM (New Zealand Transverse Marcator). To 'reproject' means to change from one mapping convention to another. There's a cute article on NZTM on the LINZ site -- in PDF format. The cute bit is on page 2 -- 'Conversion between Ellipsoidal and Grid Coordinates'. Note the...

If you're putting a new fuel pump on the apron, you'll also need to exclude the old one. Make sure the exclusion rectangle is big enough to contain the auto-refuelling zone.

QUOTE(Naki @ Sep 15 2007, 10:30 PM) Thanks Lawrie - I'll try deinstalling Pro Enviroment Good luck with that. I did have some trouble removing all the elements of it. Luckily i had done a full backup of all the FS folders (scenery, texture, addonscenery etc) before i installed it, so deleted the complete folders and just copied my backups back into FS. I do believe i have read of others in the past having trouble removing all aspects of it as well. The dark water textures in it are really nice though.................. My stopgap Hamilton will become obsolete, once Mike's...

If you're wanting to save as .api then either the freeware EOD (Easy Object Design) or the payware Abacus' Flight Sim Design Studio V.2 (to v2.11, I think) is what you should be looking for. Yes, it is possible to export GMax items to .api format (see the Scenery Hall of Fame Tutorial area), but it's also kinda redundant. Personally, I use FSDS (V.3); it's money well spent.

Could you please tell me more about the 20m mesh from Red Baron Entertainment. Eg: How good it really is, what it includes, etc You asked the same thing just the other day! Try reading through my Long White Cloud Tour and looking at the screenies. It is a review of the mesh styled into a tour.

QUOTE(captainherc @ Sep 10 2007, 09:26 AM) I post some screenshots in that section which has led to another question, so I will continue it here. I have finally gotten into the programme bowels and I found the fs9 files. I do not know if I opened it up in the correct way. Used WORD. Changed the terrainvertex max level setting from 19 to 21 and saved. Went on to do a flight. Still used Rotorua as this is the originl so any change I made hopefully will stand out from previous flights from there. Looked the same but now had a small ridge line along the side of the airfield. So another...

As for price - It can be purchased from here - 20m Mesh and Topo NZD105.00 I can't see it listed but I think for the the Topo only it is NZD40.00. The 75m Freeware Mesh is available from the same site. You could also check out Simmarket.com do a search under Red Baron. Prices are in Euro's

i assume your talking about the PMDG B1900-D ??) . VERY nice model isnt it,..and a joy to fly !! I sure am, and yes the model looks great (despite, what some may say, its very ugly body shape). I've posted various screenies up here and here if you are interested /winkyy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= ;) border= 0 alt= winkyy.gif />

The rules say: Remember, these forums are purely focused on the New Zealand side of flightsim, so if you are interested in virtual flight in other countries, there are plenty of other foreign websites that you should visit instead. ( ) This thread is pointless. Closed.

I agree with Lawrie. I have been really happy with FScene. I have the free season files for Europe and North & South America that Ruud released as a birthday gift to the FS community. These inspired me to splash out on a full set for Aus and NZ. My entry in this month's screenshot competition shows FScene textures in FS9.
