I ended up having to create mini exclusion files all over NZAA to get rid of the statics that I didn't like. It can be done for NZAA but putting a exclusion file over NZWP results in only removing the static aircraft textures.

QUOTE (ilovetofly @ Feb 3 2008, 02:39 PM) Lawrie, Found the problem. As usual you were correct. I found I had installed your other airport sceneries into a different folder. So the BMP's were duplicated in active sceneries. Thanks for your help and please keep up the good work. Jim D. Its usually the case,............. 99 times out of 100 the texture is doubled up somewhere else. It may not necessarily be in one of my sceneries either,................... the problem can occur from ANY addon scenery, from ANY area in the FS world, that has that particular texture in an active...

Thanks guys, I did it properly and it all works fine. Some of the textures are a bit funny tho. Like Wellington is very brown. And the Kaikoura runway is in the surf. And there are paddocks out to sea off Hokitika. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers!

QUOTE (Alex @ Jan 20 2008, 11:11 AM) Maybe has something to do with the fact that you are slewing instead of flying (Speed=0kts, V/S=0fpm, engines off...)? But I suppose you've probably tried it properly anyway. Alex Ah ... of course i tried it during a flight ;-) I was slewing to shot this screen. I saw in another topic, that a new version is available at flightsim.com (NZCH05v1.zip). I will try this one and check it.

QUOTE (Grumble @ Jan 16 2008, 02:09 AM) Does this one work in FSX? I have no idea. I no longer have FSX, so i havnt tested it in it. The scenery was designed and built for FS9 , with the RBE 20m NZ mesh, and NZ Topo Scenery installed. Lawrie. >nzflag<

Havent got the mesh, but did download Tim Clayton's Raro airport. A few details in it arent quite right, but its way better than the base one. My wife and I had our honeymoon on Aitutaki and flew out there from the mainland on a Air Rarotonga Saab340, so of course when I got home I had to download the exact skin (for FS2002) and fly back-n-fwds a few times to the Island. here's a RW-pic of the Saab... "We" were not amused ;)

This real airports 06 is great. Most airports show no change (as far as I can tell) but NZAA is a big improvement. I'm using Auckland 05 and 06 simultaneously with a few bgls removed to stop double ups and it's great. All the FS2002 tarmac objects are removed so the AFCAD file does all the work there, most of the static aircraft are gone (only the banderanties remain and I created excludes for them). Most important, the frame rate hit is very reduced.

Looks like awesome work Jared, nice to see how you've continually worked things out and refined the area from the first pictures down to the last. :) I would be happy to test it for you... but don't have access to FSX at the mo... :ph43r: Alex

WHAT a giant project! You'd have to totally immerse yourself in '80's Retro for a while. POSKY have updated the 742 so that'd do, in an old Cathay paint. Wind gusting 20 kts out of 170... Hop flex bumpity bump
