These huts and small sceneries are a treat, but there can be some frustration about identifying what's where. So I have embarked on a little annotation to help with future journeys! In the pic bottom right, it says: Entry next left. (Seems the fidelity has somehow been lost between Flickr and the forum?) Sure enough, down the road there it is. This stops vehicle/helicopter unintended positional conflict.** It also shows the approach glide path over the powerlines, which in the model are hardened. I found this out the hard way. ** This is aeronautical language, used instead of saying Crash :)

My goodness... 165k views! And I hope this thread gave some new (to NZ) flightsimmers some insights about flying the place in FS9 (and beyond, perhaps). However I see that Botophucket is again up to their shenanigans, this time not actually deleting uploaded pics, just rendering them in fuzzy fashion. Gotta love 'em. This really defeats the purpose of the thread, so MODS! please delete. Thanks, see you in FS2020.

Well that's good news. I suspect it'll be next year at the earliest. Now that I'm developing for XP in NZ, it's becoming painfully obvious how bad the current mesh is.

Yup and for FS2004 users, there is Scenery Align which I regard as a necessity. Remember FS9 requires you to add the scenery, then close the sim and then restart it. This could take half the day on a sim as bloated as mine. I suspect it will help for WIN7 too.

So great to see NZA on the case, although with Wanaka, surely not not too much room for improvement :D Is the patch available yet, I don't see it in my account?

I emailed Mike and have got a reply back from him On 14/11/2024 9:40 am, Michael Allen-Andrews wrote: Hey good thank you Doug and hoping the same for you, yes I'm more than happy to give you or anyone permissions to re-upload any scenery I made or gave you personally, you can add a new Eula with this permission and consent from me and no copyright action will be taken. I do still have all files from those days so if there is anything more I'm still able to help in someway don't hesitate to reach out. Mike.

I use Lyndiman's NZ Ortho and the UHD mesh packs. Well, I've only bothered to download the South Island so far. Once again, a few hoops to jump through to get it installed -- it is distributed via torrent, which is not that common in flightsim. But if you have -- or are happy to install -- a torrent client, then it is one way to go. I'm not too sure how well these are seeded at the moment, I forget to seed them most of the time, but if there was a demand, I could try to keep it seeded.

You could change the runway dimensions by using scruffy Ducks ADE (Airport Design Editor). Cowpatz, I wish but I am NOT NOT programming whiz or otherwise I would have raked 300K a year working for Microsoft Smiling Besides I am afraid it would violate copyright laws if I or anybosdy can extend and widen the runway of that airpiort scenery for me. Dbcunnz, Thanks for cool history of that island Regards, Aharon

Just bumping this - if there is someone out there who has the skills I'm happy to commission them to have a go - I have access to NZOH and friends who work there so can get photos if need be. Mainly interested in George Bolt Terminal, the 1940's Maintenance hangers for 5 Sqn and both 3 and 5 Sqn's new buildings plus CFS hangers and building since the newly released Blackbird Texan is looking nice and is on the "too buy" wish list. I would have a go myself but its only taken me a year to get the sim pit set up to the point I can fly, so it would likely take me 4 - 5 years to get the...

Loaded it with auto ortho and there are no elevation issues there. Might want to check the fences around the aeroclub but around all of it really, they don't line up that well
