I totally agree with Timmo, your machine will really determine this setting, like all of them.

Actually, water ballast is listed as a new feature in FSX. Looks like that is the case, it will be a FSX feature only. I have it working well. I can load up with a ton of super. Struggle to take off, then sow the fert, slowly bleeding off weight. Once empty its a matter of landing and then re-loading. Unfortunately there is no key for this, so its a case of using the fuel and payload menu to put another 2200 lbs in !! For FS9 users I will offer an alternate file and leave the model with the smoke key to operate the topdressing effect, they can adjust weight as they see fit, but the...

All good Timmo, you should try it with the free 75m mesh and see if you get the same result. What was the final rez of the textures?

It seems the Google/FSX interface is already here, no longer a concept gentleman: Its starts here, but this is exciting stuff so lets see where it goes. Next Stop a NZ location of your choice?

One of the advantages of FSX roads is they are very accurate, the disadvantage is the textures behind. Photoreal will be the way to go eventually, as long as its hi-rez.

Is it just me or are the tower and ground frequencies both 188.8(or something very similar, actual frequency is not important) Does any one else have this. I have the wellington enhancement on the fsx page on f/s.co.nz. Does this change or has it always been like this? Do you mean does the scenery enhancement change the tower freq? Absolutely not, it adds the marina, some ships on the quay and the tanker just north of the runway. >nzflag< Yeah i know what the Wellington enhanncement does, i was just wondering what was the cause. No biggie, i can live with that, that is until i get real...

I wonder how it will help HT computers Note - hyperthreaded is not multi-core. Our current plan is to treat HT machines as single-core since we noticed extensive collisions between threads which caused stutters. not looking good :ph43r:

Many thanks for posting. Certainly you'd want to change some of these settings a bit, each to his own. By the was have these people even played FSX with sparse scenery there won't be any buildings. I get 50fps using the 8800 suggested settings, but out of NZWN I only get the jetways and no airport buildings! :o One thing I am certain of, and that is those goofy little cars that cavort up and down the rollercoasters which pass for roads in FSX, are permanently gone.

Like you, slowly beginning to see some justification for FSX. More will come in due course, I'm sure. I do believe there was a bird strike on finals, there. But that's about the only thing we haven't seen in FS9, the rest is purty but not startling. (Good mesh though) Interesting to watch and thanks for the heads-up.

The mountain looks great, and the farmland's the right colour! I tried this scenery on top of my own simple Taranaki addon, and it works fine. With this scenery I can forget about crude lanclass polys, and concentrate on adding the missing airports and landmarks. Here's a shot of my own New Plymouth and farmland replacements blending into the photoreal mountain: You can see where my darker Puakai Ranges forest landclass meets the photoreal scenery. I flew over the NZMQ helibase, the only airport I added that is on top of the new photoreal scenery. It looked fine - in fact you can...
