In the early days everyone checking out the ORBX airport , New Plymouth was famed for the VOR sitting in the middle of the runway , i stopped at Oamaru on release and it was fine , maybe a simple glitch , could have been a spooky welcome party .

I've been happily cruising along in FS9.5. The whole world is my oyster, never ran out of headroom after all these years. I too have been waiting for P3D to look more solid before taking a look there. At this stage there is no way I'd invest $100's in starting up a full-blown FSX sim. Of course nothing stops you from running both; I run FSX as a curiosity because occasionally there's something that catches my fancy.

I've emailed the creator asking him how it will deal with certain situations. I downloaded and started to work on some Wellington STARs then realised the approaches start at the same points and set you up north or south of the field depending on which runway is in use. In the programs it seems that the runway in use is not considered (it may not be possible to get via SimConnect?) and the program controls the AI and picks a STAR with the closest entry point to where the AI is current;y. All verry fine, but as the STARs start at the same point then diverge (I havn't tested yet) I...

Thanks guys I am using rotary encoders to adjust gauges like vor adf alt hsi etc. I have built a face plate that fits over the monitor and just finished mapping and resizing the gauges to fit my panel bitmap. The knobs on the VOR and hsi are still just visible so I was trying to figure out a way of removing the knob bitmaps only Cheers Rhys

QUOTE (realjumper @ May 28 2013,12:14 PM) That is so true. I won't bore everyone with the details, but that is how I've lived my life.....I have taken some extreme tangents in my working life and changed careers and even gone back to Uni to gain the qualification I needed to change careers....lol....I was older that the students AND most of the tutors. I have a short attention span for careers.....after about 10 years I get sick of it, so I change, and to hell with those who say 'too old to change'.....lol.....if you want something....go get it....the only thin...

I don't think the manual covers the FTX insertion point -- this is from the patch manual: QUOTE Using Real New Zealand Tauranga with Orbx NZNI You must run the FTX Central tool and set the FTX Scenery Insertion Point so that Orbx NZNI and NZSI load before any Real New Zealand scenery such as Real NZ Tauranga. To set the correct location, make sure that the Insertion Point is BELOW any Real New Zealand scenery. ('Below' in this case is relative to the depiction within the FTX Scenery Insertion Point tool window.) Be aware that this is the only way to effectively control the scenery...

The SW works just fine.....all the controls seem to work (so far) so I'll keep using this for the time being. Nice that it was recgnised by Win 7 with no issues at all /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif />

QUOTE (towerguy @ May 1 2013,11:09 PM) is there a way I can restrict the amount of smoke? don't land so hard! you should see the amount that comes off some 'for real!' cheers no that picture is not so bad - its more when an AI dash 8 lands and all you can see is a whole lot of smoke and no aircraft for a few seconds

The Captains triple7 is still a work in progress , its been a gradual build right from the beginning and lasting now almost three years , if you have been followed on my many postings about the aircraft , many others mentioning specific's not working , Its a great to what model go thru a build and understand what it takes to get a complete and final build . /cool.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= B-) border= 0 alt= cool.gif />

QUOTE (Mith18 @ Mar 19 2013,5:25 PM) Yeah I live in Napier, under the approach path to the airport infact. The main aeroplanes are ATR-72's and the Q-300's. Seen a couple of Piper Tomahawks from Air HB, RNZAF C-130, and something similar to a Cessna Citation XL and a Beechcraft Baron. yeah but none of those aircraft would require a longer runway

QUOTE From neutrino via Simouthouse: ... t&p=789437 "We've been busy adding various subsystems to the Tomcat, including a payload manager which enables dynamic loading of various weapons, automated checklists, the electric, fuel systems, as well as compressor stalls. We're also very excited to announce that we are working on a TacPack integration that will enable the Tomcat to fire missiles and destroy other aircraft. We don't know if we would be able to include the TacPack enabled version in our initial Tomcat release - the seamless integration requires a very careful...

QUOTE (Dean @ Feb 18 2013,7:40 PM) Turn them way down /tongue.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :P border= 0 alt= tongue.gif /> At least try it turned way down, and if you have no problems, then you know whats causing it... Then start turning them back up, one at a time and test, and you will find out quickly which setting is causing the problem. What frame rates where you getting when the screen froze? There's a chance it might not even be related to graphics at all... Thanks Dean I think the frame rate was 25, The frame rate I never altered.
