I used a 128 file, and yes, very cotton wooly. So I looked at the pictures in all the other folders, and they all looked the same. Instead of using one from that package, I'm now using a file straight out of FS9 (cumulus01.bmp) And that is straight in from the freeware FS9 HD clouds package (a 128 file as well) Later today I might try and use more files from that package in FSX and see how I go (will back up first though!) Currently fairly nice weather enroute, but the view out the window is this: Other things I am using to help: fps_enhancement_package_v2_267188.zip by Tom Knudsen @...

Thanks Guys I am going to re-install FSX and acceleration. I don't have any addons so I'm running FSX default. With sliders set to about half, no water ,no light bloom, cockpit detail low clouds off, antialiasing ticked in the sim, screen res set to 1600x1200-32 traffic set to about 20%, my flight starts of at about 20fps then slow to about 5fps and goes up to may be between 12-20 and that's the default free flight with the microlight. Once you've installed realtime, you can uninstall it if you wish. I think it gives an option to leave the timezone fixes installed into FS. Basically, it will install an "addon scenery" type folder called "TzFiles04" in it's home directory. Mine is activated in FS9 automatically (Can't remember the procedure for X, but I bet it's similar). I suggested installing fsrealtime simply as it's the easiest way to get the timezone fix installed. That timezone folder is all you really need to fix this particular problem. So if you decide to uninstall FSrealtime,...

You will also need to activate the FTX AI like you do with add on scenery IIRC.

In case you missed the email - Gudday, Well as many of you will know the forum was down for three weeks or so while Invisionplus sorted out their issues. Unfortunately this all happened without warning so we were unable to advise you this was going to happen. As you will also know some months ago we had a similar outage though it only lasted about a week. As you can imagine these types of outages are hugely frustrating for everyone, and we know forum use took a hit as a result. The reality is that while it's been a great couple of years its now time to move on as we simply cannot sustain...

Had a quick look but not sure where to start in that cfg list. So everyone just puts up with this? To be honest I would of thought they would of had a default fix for this in one of the earlier service packs. Must be a lot of jets humping their way through the virtual skies out there lol Edit: After looking around some more, apparently there is no fix for it. It was a 'feature' introduced with SP2 ....
