Well you could always go for this one which I first saw on this Forum. But MSFS 2020 recognises standard mapping from any plugged-in control device. And then also allows you to custom map every command directly from within the sim. I currently use only a twistgrip joystick which does everything I need: Engine/flight controls/brakes/flaps/POV hat/switch & reset view. I still have half a dozen functions available which I will no doubt use up as time goes on. Here in Loburn, just north of Rangiora, I get 10 to 14 Mbs rural broadband, about half what you’re getting. MSFS generally runs pretty good but I do get low broadband connection warnings every now and then. Not sure how the slow broadband affects MSFS loading times, it normally takes about 10 to 15 minutes from time I click on the MSFS icon until I press ‘ready to fly’. I don’t usually fly near big US cities - I’m all low and slow GA. John

I remember that there was a bit of confusion / irritation a while back that airports required other packages. I see that ORBX seem to have gone away from that now though, certainly in XP where as far as I'm aware, no airports REQUIRE other purchases, you may get some odd tree positions and the like without but they are perfectly usable as standalone products. I do wonder what I'd do if I didn't have the developer license -- would I pay NZ$300 for a simulator? Sure, but if I was made of money, otherwise I'd be happy to be a 'learner' for the rest of my life. I paid that amount (in €) for every major version since. I think I am in the "simulation" branch then. Otherwise I didn't care for those licensing discussions. If LM wouldn't like me to use P3D they could take actions, which they don't. Yes but dont forget you may not necessarily have OOM errors but FPS will still take a hit if you add extra detail as you propose. As always the hardware is still lagging behind.
