All the news seems to be about one new sim or another at the moment. Dovetail better do something great to keep FSX on top, otherwise I wouldn't want to guess what will be the sim of choice in three years. Prepar3D is still my favourite, but the way it is marketed and sold counts against it as the 'retail' sim of choice. So that leaves it open for some new ideas, like NexGen. Even Xplane is still in with a chance, looking at some of the work being done on that at the moment.

Hi guys - the last post here was a little while ago; have you kept flying regularly? A friend of mine and I just started flying DCS last week. We are learning the ropes and studying the map of Georgia with the Su-25T to begin with, then moving on to other craft. We are quite green at present but if you have a regular flying night, perhaps we could join in sometime? We haven't practiced the WWII planes yet, but we could program our joysticks for the Mustangs and join in after a little bit of training if you guys tend to only fly the WWII stuff. I only have the freebie Mustang but my friend has...

P.S. Excuse me, but as a fan of the Eighties music, each thread about the Tomcat should have at least one message with this song :D Arr I wouldn't worry about it, I was rounding around wide sweeping corner taken a girl home after the movie .. on my trusty 900 going a little fast and traffic patrol pulls me over (bloody unmarked car) , he asked why I was speeding in a 50km limit .... I simply told him I just finished watching TOPGUN

I still have X-Plane installed but have not set it up, the amount of packages (freeware) is snowballing, I have seen this twenty years back and others fizzled ... due to MS walking away from FS a return to the other possibles hooking into it. One thing I do like is using maps , again even if they are out date (1995-98) when I created then they are still valid in FSX .... to get you point to point .

It was state of the art vector graphics at the time, prior to that sims involved 2d sprites which were not as good as 3d objects. Wire frames led to textured 3d models which is what we have today.

QUOTE (SUBS17 @ Nov 24 2013,5:27 AM) Arma is an awesome sim and there is a lot of stuff you can download for it like mods etc and there is an NZDF mod as well as Aussie. I may live in Aus, but Kiwi at heart, who would, play as aus any way /tongue.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :P border= 0 alt= tongue.gif /> Na great fun it seems like..

QUOTE (metalnwood @ Nov 18 2013,9:03 AM) Unlike Clod there is noway that I would prepurchase this although I am looking forward to it if they make it work. I dont keep up to date on it in the forums but I have seen signs that perhaps the old Clod developers are back th their old ways. Yes, they are using the ROF engine as the basis so we dont have to rely on them to implement a good engine but to date all correspondence has come from the old clod team, not 777. Now that things have not gone how the pre purchasers wanted things the 777 guys have stepped in and talked for the first...
