Wow that is spectacular, certainly Marty's posts have given us an inkling of that sim. I believe the models are essentially study level, and that is frightening.

Well, some pics at last. Yet another case of Win 10 'improvements' making things worse, when they weren't broken in the first place  Note that the smallest airfields, like Ryan's Creek and Takaka only show as blue dots, at this zoom level.

Great link, thanks Mike. I have about an 80% fit for this sim. Adding AI was a biggie I reckon, not going for ATC: not so much!

I walked in there when I was in Tauranga doing my BFR, FCCC etc etc. Had a good old chat with the guy and tried out the Spitfire and Mi24. Didn't have any issues with motion sickness at all but I did find myself reaching for things in the cockpit.

Thankyou, Charl. I had the AFS2 community freeware Paris, and it was very good. The France VFR offering was to the same standard as their FSX/P3D stuff, so worth having for that, even though my GPU is not really up to it. And of course France VFR are the only commercial folk doing AFS2 these days, and I am happy to support them. I now have a 2TB SSD, so I will migrate the AFS2 stuff to that, and pick up a better GPU soon. There are plenty of 'obsolete' ones around, at good prices, but not too many in Oz, thanks to Covid19. Progress across the densest part of Paris can be slow, but if you just...

Yes Charl - as usual, since it is a major update, IPACS first put it out on Steam. Steam installs are essentially standardised, which makes troubleshooting much easier. So the Steam folk get to do all the pre-release testing, and us DVD folk get a fully-sorted upgrade. I don't mind the wait. :D You will probably find your add-on aircraft will only give you the default livery, regardless of which one you choose. That is why you might need to add a suitable options.tmc to the third party planes. ATB, Mike

Radar, I've got it now and I love it. I'm only at the tiger moth stage due to time constraints, but I am working on it. It's really well done with beautiful graphics ....will post some screens asap. Thanks for the heads up

Yes, I guess we are looking at something similar to the difference between the FSX default mesh and FTZ NZ or VLC mesh -- although I think that these are based on what LINZ call '10m' data, but is only really 10 metres in one direction, and 22 in the other... I do in fact have a FS2 elevation file for NZ based on this 10m data, built by IPACS after I sent them the data. This was designed to form the basis of a custom NZ, but I'm not sure when/if it'll see the light of day. There's more and more elevation data coming out of LINZ these days, up to 1 metre resolution, but generally I downsample...

If the existing forums were busy enough to have to separate sims, I'd be inclined to agree, but it's been a while since that was the case.
