Creating missions for FSX is difficult they tell me. PC Pilot Magazine has had tutorials in it recently. PD

QUOTE (bigdogshark62 @ Sep 29 2006, 04:28 AM) Waikikamukau is the quintessential small hick town in the sticks. Not even real, the name was created by Billy T James. I was told that it was a common Kiwi expression when I first moved there, and then I come to find out even the locals hadn't heard of it. /laugh.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= laugh.gif /> Why kick a moo-cow was around long before Billy T. Hi Robin Good to see the news of a late September release for Wanaka & Tekapo for FSX. The new photos are superb and I really like the inclusion of the missions. Hope you can get a good airshow together with AI planes. I know you thought this might push it beyond a CD but as payware I think it would be appreciated. Anyway the month will pass more quickly with a treat to look forward to! Cheers Mike

QUOTE (Daniel @ Aug 5 2008, 05:32 PM) Yer I have seen a bit of your scenery on trade me lately. Do you know you can edit the prices and text on there? If you didn't want to give it away that cheap then just edit it /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif /> Yeah, but I didn't pick it up until today -- since I have a few people watching it, it seemed fairer to leave it as it was, but hope that someone on the forum wants it:)

Being willing to learn is the first step and then finding your skills and getting started learning the parts that are needed to make that project a reality ,be it repainting /afcads /missions /scenery /landclass/mesh/agn /AI/aircraft/or something else that tickles your fancy, its very rewarding being able to say i did that !! it really isnt that hard when you have a goal set ,start with small steps and then they get bigger ... if there is something you just dont get you could always jump on TS and chat to me about it and see if i could or others can help ,better still post something...

That church looks great /thumbup1.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= thumbup1.gif /> And that Christchurch city /drool.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= drool.gif /> That looks amazing. I think the files you are looking at are not AFCADs, there are just mesh scenery files, so you won't need to delete anything from there. Just install the scenery and it should work fine.

I am fairly sure I know what the problem is... did you adjust the Terrain_Max_Vertex_Level value in your fs9.cfg? if this is not set correctly, the sim will not use the correct mesh. It should be set to 21 if you have the 20metre mesh... if you have the 75m mesh it should be at 19.

Thank you for the reply Rob. Having a beefy system now I get good results with Wellington but was surprised that Auckland performed less well. I think that as you say there are many variables and some can be optimised for FSX. Certainly SP2 seems to have had an impact as I was running one of Gary Summons' extreme sceneries that was released in the early days of FSX, and getting ridiculous fps of 3-4! Then I found that he had released a post SP2 version and although it has had to forego some features, at least it is back to 40 fps - so I am happy. Incidentally I noticed that he had...
