QUOTE (Michael @ Feb 2 2009, 03:44 PM) So is their a proper fix for this, such as the one on the link Alex pointed out. Just got my copy and have same problem. A 'proper fix' for crash detection would need to come from Microsoft, and that isn't going to happen now. Honestly, when taxiing around any compact airport like Wellington you need to turn crash detection off.

QUOTE (toprob @ Jan 28 2009, 12:00 PM) Yes, those prices are still available from the Godzone Store. Sounds like you have not installed any service patches? You should at least have FSX SP1. whoops of course - need more bandwidth to get the SPs - Ill install the service patches next week when my broadband is back to normal.

Thanks for that. The replacement bgl works a treat. And thanks for the detailed explanation. It all makes so much sense that now I'm kicking myself for not realising the obvious. I guess I need to try a bit of scenery design to gain a better understanding. I now know that Omaka is not the only airport where I have experienced this problem so the alternate solution seems a wise choice. I have often flown into Omaka and probably used 30 or 01 on most visits so being able to relive those experiences again is great. There were no vines on the airfield when I was flying though.

QUOTE (NZ255 @ Dec 25 2008, 12:33 PM) Talking about Wellington, is there any way you could move the road and fire buildings so that it lines up with the photoreal? There's hardly any room when taxing to gate 27 in my A320. In real life there is a lot of room down there, but it is all squished up in this Please don't take all this criticism too badly, and don't put it in the way of projects you need to do. I would do it myself but it's all compiled. Thank you very much, Merry Christmas Nick I normally aim to release 'fixes' only when the actual sim changes --...

Just to let anyone else that find they have this same problem with the Woodbourne runway lights. I have been in touch with Robin and here is his reply. Ah, yes, this does appear to be an issue with FSX SP2. Pre-SP2, I relied on the default lights to show through the partially transparent ground textures, but now it seems that this no longer happens. I'll look at the options to fix this sometime in the new year. I wasn't aware of this until you brought it up, so thanks!

QUOTE (ronindanbo @ Dec 19 2008, 09:03 PM) ahhh your on myhost too?> >nzflag< Yeah, there's a lot of it about, I notice that ARNZ is as well. Even though Myhost is a NZ company, I've always been a bit guilty that they used US servers, so I can finally feel ok about it:)

QUOTE (Pato @ Oct 14 2008, 08:14 PM) I checked the area and PN is not shown on the Map. Only WB and BM. Hope you can get to the bottom of it and suggest my next move. Do you actually see the Real NZ Marlborough scenery when you fly from Omaka or Woodbourne? Do you see Picton airport? (I mean when you fly there, rather than in the Airport List.) If the scenery does display, then you should be able to land at Picton, and see the addon airport, even if the airport doesn't appear in the airport list. Would it be possible to email me screenshots of your Scenery Library showing the...

In FSX, conditional scenery is only really available via the missions. This airshow 'mission' can be used as a normal flight -- provided you select the ability to change the settings when you load the mission, you can choose any aircraft/season/time of day/weather. The FS2004 version was a lot more limited, in that the display conditions were built into the scenery objects -- in other words, you could place the included models in any scenery you wish, but they would still only show up on a couple of days of the year.

This is something which amuses me, especially at school plays etc -- I want to stand up and yell 'Do you people ever read the manual? What's the range of your flash -- 4 or 5 metres tops? Wadaya think is gonna happen here, somehow your flash will develop super powers and reach out all that way to light up your kid?' I think of the FS crowd flashes as kind of a MS homage to stupid people... I did think it might be controlled by Advanced Animations, but it seems not. Makes sense, reading the manual would be considered advanced, turning the flash off would seem quite simple.

QUOTE (Charl @ Sep 27 2008, 03:04 PM) DO remember to uninstall any cobbled-over previous versions of Wanak/Tekapo...interesting effects if you don't... Ah, yes, because there was no official port to FSX, I didn't cover this in the manual, but you would need to delete the two folders -- RealNZwanaka and Tekapo2 -- before installing. Did you watch Monk this afternoon? This reminded me how pleased I was to get rid of the old Tekapo2 folder, and bring it into line with other Real NZ releases.

QUOTE (toprob @ Sep 29 2008, 04:47 AM) Is the shimmering only with Real NZ Wellington? There is a bit of ground bleed-through with the Caketin (this is caused by the way the sim displays ground objects from a distance, and is not a fault), but you shouldn't see this elsewhere. A good point!!. No it is not only with Wellington so it is an adjustment I have to make somewhere but I am not sure where to start. I had this previously but with some advice from someone I sorted it out. Unfortunately I can't recall what I did as it was some time ago.
