I am really touched having been elected for the banner. Just a big "thank you" to my Kiwi friends. The screen itself isn't that sharp, but that's Auckland in the background.

Kind regards, Michael

On the setup: It's indeed great - as long as I fly in a Cessna. That's what it's made for and what I prefer anyway. I've been using it for around 8 yrs now. But it has its restrictions, too.

(i) It's inflexible and inapporpriate for airliners or even business liners, not to speak of choppers.

(ii) New gadgets like the Honeycomb yoke becoming available right now don't fit into the apertures.

(iii) I find me more and more enjoying VR making the setup more or less superfluous. I have an ACER headset for now but am heading for a HP Reverb for Christmas.

I am still using it until it will fall apart but not sure if I'll replace it by something similar afterwards.

Kind regards, Michael

Thanks guys, and notably to Doug and Adam for getting this done. The two little guys are from a NZ round-trip in 2013. I really enjoy the new banners, all the previous ones were great, and it's nice to meet members in person.

BTW, was Rob "toprob" already portrayed...? Maybe in conjunction with one of his creations?

Kind regards, Michael

Here you go Michael a few more NZFF faces from left dbcunnz (me), splitpin (Marty), deaneb (Deane), toprob (Rob), scaber (Greg), Ian Warren and insert choppernut (Nick) who featured on the March 2019 NZFF members banner .
But very sadly Ian has since passed away and no longer with us may he be resting in peace.
This was taken at the 2015 classic Fighters Airshow

Thanks Doung, that's a very nice photo, I recall Ian who was a very active member here and was shocked when I learend he was dead. I think his last posting was a couple of days before he died, by cancer.

Apart from Rob, and Nick (to whom I have only spoken, when we had Teamspeak) I met all of these gentlemen a few years back. They might look like a rough old crew, but they are all top quality people.

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

I am really touched having contributed to showing that photo again. BTW, I have a collection of photos of flightsim developers/forum contributors from several fora I have fond memories of.
