Marty, I'm pretty sure Goggle Translate wouldn't know either
A 'lum' is a chimney, and the blessing means "May your chimney continue to smoke". There's no smoke without fire, and without a fire in wintry Scotland, you would soon starve. In medieval times 'to starve' meant simply to die, not specifically of hunger ...and on that cheery note, have a great one :plane:

Yes it's 2018 - where did that come from so quickly?
I wish everyone: one or all, of health wealth and happiness, this year.

Same to you Marty and all the rest of the NZFF family.

Been a bit slack lately re simming, have actually bitten the train-sim bug (thanks to Marty for that) and been busy w work, hoping to get cracking back into some flying tho soon. Wonder what exciting releases are likely later in the year. Am personally looking forward to the 757s in the works as love that airframe.

Happy new year to everyone on NZFF!

I haven't been around here for a few months but having just bought P3D v4.1, I'm hoping to get back into it in 2018.

Hope 2018 brings you and yours everything you wish for.

It's nice to be back!

I spend eleven months of the year in the UK and one in NZ. I'm hoping to improve that... ;-)

It would be good to hear your thoughts on the latest version of P3D.

Happy new year to all, I've actually been off the grid for the last few days, camping at Peel Forest. I didn't realise there was no phone/internet there, but it was easier than I thought to cope with...
Finally managed to get all three of my kids together at the same time, if only for a few hours. (One son had to work through, but he lives locally anyway.) Have my other son and his wife visiting from Colombia, and my daughter is down from Wellington, goes back tomorrow. She's making dinner at the moment, something vegetarian....
Discovered I'm not too old to camp out, provided the company is great, but I do need a comfy bed.

A very Happy New Year for all my Southern Hemispherical Chums; "dahn unda".... :D ....!

Up here in our Northern Climes, I am waiting for the agony of Winter to be over, and warm, dry weather to appear so I can get "aht 'n abaht" on my Bike again, or even tidy up all the trees and shrubs around my back garden.
We are getting severe storms at the moment which I hope will blow Winter away!
...I envy you all your warmth, at the moment!

Paul.... :) ....!

Just a quick follow-up here, my son and his wife were planning to return to Bogata next week, but they've decided to shift to NZ! My son will stay on to find work, and his wife will return home to close up the business etc. A real surprise to me, but I'm thrilled. They hope to settle in Wellington, they are there at the moment staying with my daughter.
