Welcome to Whenuapai Air Force Base. The base is situated north west of Auckland City, in Waitakari District.
Whenuapai is home to several different R.N.Z.A.F. squadrons, with varying aircraft and helicopter types, including
the Lockheed P3 Orion, Lockheed C130 Hercules, Iroquois and Seasprite helicopters.

This scenery is designed and built to fit the "RealNZ Auckland City" photoreal scenery (payware) by Robin Corn.
It will however, work fine in default FS9. The scenery contains some custom items, and also custom ground textures for all 4 seasons
to replace the original RealNZ ground textures.

The scenery was also designed to work with the newly updated RNZAF AI package, filename rnzafa11.zip, by Charl Du Toit.
The AI package is freely available from avsim.com.

Some random pics during the building of the scenery............

Not me. I'm thoroughly cheesed off! All I can say is one word ... or to be more precise ... three characters ... F-S-X!!!

Go on Laurie ... you *know* you want to laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Does anyone know if I could use an exclude file or something to get this stunning scenery to work in FSX - alongside Rob's AKL City?

The only things that WONT work in FSX are the AFCAD, the excludes, the flattens, and the FS9 trees.
All the buildings etc seem to show up ok in FSX.
All you'd need is a few basic tools to fix that,...... convert the AF2 to AFX, make new excludes for the default FSX buildings, any flattens if necessary, and an object placer for FSX to replace the trees with FSX ones.

I can say three characters too,................... F-S-9 !! laugh.gif

Good Luck.
I'd be VERY interested in the results you come up with......................
I have a large collection of pics sent to me by various people of a large selection of my FS9 NZ sceneries in FSX.
Some dont look too bad actually.............

As i have said before, i may consider the move to FSX later in the year, but i will still continue to use FS9 as the sim of choice for actual flying, and i would still be building for FS9 as well,.......... the demand is still there, and as long as its there, i will continue to build for FS9.

Lawrie - I made a start on this last night - but it looks like I may need a bit of help with the EZ scenery stuff. I'll PM you to save public bandwidth.

If we can arrive at a working FSX install procedure, then we could report back here winkyy.gif

Your sceneries just get better. Maybe you should consider redoing NZAA (apart form the one you did for yourself) using the usual EZ-Scenery and custom objects....?

But looking real flash

Is there a way to remove the Whenuapai scenery from "Auckland Airports for RealNZ" to use this one as an alternative? fs9.gif

Its been a couple of years since ive used "Auckland Airports for RealNZ", as i have my own custom NZAA scenery. The ONLY airport contained in that package that im still using as a standalone airport is NZAR.

Go to the Auckland Airports folder, have a look in the "Scenery" folder for any files with NZWP or WP in the filename , and remove the bgl file to a safe place for storage.

Try removing the files named...............

NZWP-2002.bgl
WP_EXC.bgl
WP_EXC_Exclude.bgl
AF2_NZWP.bgl

See how it looks after removal of those files,........ i think removal of those will take NZWP back to default buildings etc.

I have the FS9 Addon working great in my FSX setup if you don't mind losing a few trees!!...simply by removing the NZWP_GenTre...bgl....the NZWP_OpsBdgTre.bgl...and the WP_GenTre.bgl files from the Whenuapai_(Military)_NZWP/Scenery Folder and not adding the AF2_NZWP.bgl to the FSX/Scenery/World/Scenery Folder. I have also been able to install Charl's RNZAF AI into FSX.

Of course you must have the FS9 Static Objects Library (updated as required by Lawrie R) installed in FSX and added to the Scenery Library in the normal manner ensuring that all Lawrie's Addons are BELOW the Static Obj Lib.

I have been able to get about 50% of Lawrie's Addons working in FSX this way.....Aitutaki (NCAI) was a recent "convert"!!!!

Hope this may be of some help.
