Submit your shots from a flight simulator, by replying below.
The Theme is:
FIXED UNDERCARRIAGE

At the end of the month I will pick a winner, who will get the complete range of current Godzone products

2014/15 NZ Photoscenery compilation
Real New Zealand Dunedin
Real New Zealand/VLC Nelson

...and if the shot is truly exceptional, an advance copy of the upcoming Christchurch scenery too!

As a last gesture from Adam and Doug, who have done such stalwart work in running the screenshot comp, they will select a shot to be used as the Forum Banner for the next while.

Tell your friends about this, especially those who haven't dipped the toe into NZ scenery!

No questions are stupid as we all are learning , even seasoned flyers.. This means a plane with non retractable wheels.

Correct! :)
But of course there are those who will find a way of shoehorning a different interpretation of that into the screenshot.
For example, while "fixed" in this context is taken to mean "Not moveable", it can also mean "Repaired" !
The word "Undercarriage" itself could be massaged in several ways.
Adds to the flavour...

A2A Piper Cherokee P3dv4... if this is the last screenshot comp I may as well enter since I have been here near the beginning even if it is a basic shot. Hopefully somebody has the time to keep it going! Unfortunately I don't

Some great shots already. I've really enjoyed trying to bring something different to the comp the last couple of months so I thought that I'd do the same for what looks like the last.

To date, mankinds last manned landing on another world.

'Okay, Gordo, I’ve got Nansen; I’ve got Lara; and I’ve got the Scarp…. oh, man, we’re level with the top of the Massifs now!' Gene Cernan - CDR Apollo 17

Image

The lunar module, built by Grumman Aircraft on Long Island essentially had fixed undercarriage. Prior to undocking from the CSM, the gear was extended by pyrotechnics and was fixed in place. Retraction was not possible making it the most expensive fixed gear flying machine ever created.

Apollo 17 was the last Apollo lunar landing. Veteran Gene Cernan was given command, his sidekick in the Lunar Module was Harrison Schmitt who was a field geologist by trade and was taught to be a pilot and astronaut by NASA. Remaining high above in orbit was Ron Evans, a navy fighter pilot.

Image

Due to the high latitude of the landing site, 17 was the only night launch of America's manned space program until the shuttle flew.

Image

Apollo 17 was, fittingly, the most comprehensive exploration of the moon during the program. Cernan and Schmitt landed in the Taurus-Littrow valley, a challenging and interesting geological site. The pair completed three EVAs spending the longest time outside of any of the Apollo crews.

There is far too much to say about 17... maybe this last photo from the flight sums up what the Apollo program was really about.... Mankind looking back at his home for the first time.

I already own all the great Godzone-products, so please don't select my shot. I just want to participate in the last screenshot-comp over here – as a way to say "thank you" to Doug and Adam. ;)

The strange looking GeeBee stunting over the Marlborough landscape in a not so fine weather...and hope not to destroy the "fixed undercarriage" by landing this very difficult to handle plane:

Ikbenik,

That is beautiful clouds. What do you use for clouds?

Every time you make new post using your screenname Ikenik, I keep thinking that it is actually Henrik Ibsen making appearance on those forums

LOL Pretty confusing for me

LOL

Hello Aharon,

Thank you for the fine comment. Henrik Ibsen? Who is he...never heard or readed that name...and what is the supposed likeness? My alias is not Ikenik but ikbenik, is dutch for 'I'm me' or 'I is I'
For sky textures I actually use REX Sky Force3 installed in P3Dv4 but the picture is more than a year old and was in P3Dv3 with REX-predecessor 'Texture Direct'.

It is world's most famous playwright ranking second behind Shakespeare in greatest plays.
