Virtualcol Dash-8 series

Postby SeanTK » Sun Mar 15, 2015 7:36 am

Now released:
http://secure.simmarket.com/virtualcol- ... -p3d.phtml

Not the most refined addon out there, but their market seems to be for those that are happy with lower-end renditions. With that being said, it's not bad, and seems to be an improvement on prior efforts.
Comes with the 100, 200, 300, and 400. Only installed the first three, and have only taken the 100 up so far. Definately some graphical niggles, but overall I'm still happy with it. Comes with a lot of liveries too.

I'm impressed by Virtualcol: basic but "honest".
ANZ Link livery too, I'll be able to put the whole plane into my next Real vs Sim photoshoot out of NZPP!

Have been using it a bit more within the past few minutes, and I'm actually fairly happy with it overall. The VC is nice enough for me, and there's more simulated on it than I initially expected. Also, the sheer number of liveries is fantastic, covering a very wide array of countries. I noticed an Air New Zealand Link Q300 is included, as well as a Vincent Q100, for the Kiwis, as well as multiple Aussie liveries spanning a few different airlines, and numerous others as well.

Yes the modelling around the cockpit is a little lumpy, and taxiing can be somewhat "nodding dog"
But the VC is surprisingly good.
Best to extract to a dummy folder from the .exe (as always) since it wants to put some textures in the main texture folder (in FS9 anyway).

I'm actually getting used to the fern/Koru overkill on these planes, nothing if not distinctive.

Looks ok, does it have a programmable FMC? Interested in a few more of your thoughts, good and bad...

Since the bulk off the paint is done, wonder how it would go with some off Terry's "Dash8Captain" photo's put onto , that would give it some real Zing!

Well I got the last Vcol plane (SAAB as I recall) at a sale price of 10 bucks which was pretty reasonable I thought.
This time, the Greenback is a little stronger so NZD28.

I wouldn't know a Dash8 FMC from a barcode reader, but this one has plenty of buttons you click, also in VC, and things do seem to pop up.

Did the same a while ago with their Fokker 50.
Although I've been warned, I thought I'd give it a go - back then not knowing there'll be a F-27 coming up.

Well, to be polite:
This piece of *beeeeep* took its first hop straight to the scrap yard...

Cheers,

Do what I did, merged it with the Majestic cockpit. Now I have a -100, -200, -300 and -400 with a sweet interior :P

I don't own a Virtualcol aircraft , these new companies have a few glitch's with install's ... personally I would say you would be fine with the install, It is strange its looking to 'Overwrite" a file , maybe it uses the default Das8 or least parts of it .. only thing I can think off for this remark.
