SpringHill for FSX

Support for Timmos FSX photoreal scenery projects from the VisualiseIT project

Postby Timmo » Sun May 10, 2009 11:14 am

Hey Guys- Next on the release list is SpringHill- It is literally over the hill from my recently released Kaipara Flats aerodrome- I took the reference photos on the same day on a road trip

As usual, this release features custom modelled buildings with photo-realistic textures and window reflections. Since this airfield is not used at night, no night textures are included. It also includes custom fencing, updated facility information as well as placed library objects (trees, misc objects)

I've included some extra roads and tracks around the airfield leading to some of the 'lifestyle' block houses (placed library objects) too.

So here are some pictures- Ive still got to sort out the airfield height- There appears to be a large amount of discrepancy between the actual heights (AIP) and the mesh in this area...

I'm more than happy to test it and pretty familiar with the area.

Naki- What settings are you using for your mesh? Can you just confirm that you only have one flatten and one airport information file?

Stephen- I do have all the reference photos for Parakai but no Aerial photo (and google maps/earth has nothing either)- I need this to accurately model the building dimensions and positions.

Yep only one airport but looks like I had two flatten files - one in scenery and the other in the textures - I took the texture one out but it didnt have any effect - although I guess flatten in the texture file wont have any effect anyway?

My mesh resolution is set at 19m. Should this be changed?

No It shouldn't- Although make sure you have kept the correct flatten.

Ill see if I can take a look at this tomorrow- looks like the weather will be conducive

Dude hell yea when is this coming out I need it!!!!
I go flying at springhill nearly every Sunday, i'm a member at springhill aviation club and live nearby. I tried making this airport more realistic myself with ADE with crapy default stuff but this is waaaay more amazing
I also love your Kaipara scenery and its cool cos i'v flown out of Kaipara several times in my dad's friends Piper Cherokee PA-180
Dude thank you sooo much for the scenery they are like the two best aerodomes in the world!!!!!
You just made my day!
How long will it take for SPRIGHILL to come out?
cheers Jimmy

Paul- Just had another look at this. I cant replicate the problems you are having with any mesh (default SRTM, Free75m LINZ, Payware 20m LINZ or the new 30M ASTER data that I've converted)...So I don't think it is a mesh issue. It appears to be an issue with the flatten in your installation or another conflicting flatten (i.e. some wayward AI install??)

Jimmy- This will be uploaded as soon as Avim gets its library back up and running smile.gif

HI Tim

Had another hard look at this --I am still stumped ..I have no wayward flattens and and have no ai (other than the default) in my FSX install. ..azlso took out flatten and reinstalled the flatten you gave me..had no cahnge to the above pics..I wil keep investigating

Cheers

Paul

I had a thought- Do you have the Topo installed? Try disabling it (but keep the 20m mesh active if poss)...I think that is causing it?
