Brendon Deere's Mk. IX Spitfire PV270/ZK-SPI is a veteran of service with four different air forces, the RAF, Italian, Israeli and Burmese, and is now living a very active retirement in New Zealand as a living memorial to the owner's uncle, WW2 fighter ace Air Commodore Alan Christopher "Al" Deere, DSO, OBE, DFC and Bar. She flew again on March 18 2009 after a comprehensive, last nut and bolt restoration lasting five years at Feilding. Special thanks to Brendon Deere for assisting in the creation of this repaint. For Paul Rebuffat's Spitfire IX series, repaint by Zac Yates.
